Went up for my brothers birthday and the food was lovely. Would highly recommend the white swan for good food, good selection of drinks and a friendly atmosphere
We ate at the White Swan last night and the food was excellent! The kids loved it and I've never seen my son eat so much! Steaks were cooked to perfection, the side salad was lovely and the stilton sauce was delicious. We will definitely be back!
This pub is what I call a good old fashioned honest pub. Traditional style. Independent. Warm and cosy. Clean and tidy. Great range of beers and a great gin collection!
Reasonable prices and the food sounds great. (Didn't eat).
The lady on the bar was friendly and cheerful.. and service was spot on.
Covid rules.. so markers on the floor and hand sanatiser on the way in. Also details are taken. So all in all a fab place.
Definitely worth a visit.
Nipped in for a Monday Folk night, so no food on offer, just lots of good company and good beer.
Great village pub. Fab food, good portions and excellent value. Good ale, excellent gin selection! No need to dress up, you don't go here for the decor, it's a friendly local pub not part of a chain! We eat here fairly regularly both for lunch as part of a walking group, and in the evenings too.
Very welcoming landlord and a smashing locals pub.
Nice little old style village pub serving a nice selection of beers, ales, wines and spirits. Great food and friendly service. Outdoor seating in the car park area and a beer garden at the end of the car park.
Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff were friendly and the price of the drinks was reasonable. It has that 'old world' feel to it but is clean. The toilets were clean and easy to find. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted to have a small to medium sized get together with friends or a nice place to go for a evening out with a loved one.
Brilliant beer, lovely ambience, locals warm and friendly. Staff fantastic. Landlord has good sense of humour and generosity of spirit ( which he has probably consumed). Well worth a visit. Always call in when passing through as very close to A1. Ring first if requiring food.
Well done to John and the team for all the hard work in redecorating and deep cleaning the pub whilst in lockdown ready for it's reopening on 4 July. New opening hours - plus customers will find some changes re social distancing, these are all for the safety of customers and staff to make sure the pub stays open. Well worth a visit especially as eat in meals now up and running albeit you need to book table for evenings due to there being less tables plus there's still a take away service which Dave has brilliantly kept running all through the lockdown period
Had a nice meal with a beer, good value, and friendly staff. What more can you ask?
Cool little dive with great service. Definitely a favorite with the locals as most probably walked (guessing). The proprietor knew right away I was just passing through but made me feel welcome. Highly recommend coming in for a beer and saying hi.
