Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value.
However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant!
The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries.
I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Good food and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit for breakfast. Apologies for the high eaten breakfast photo, was really hungry and couldn't wait.
Properly delicious fry up next to the beach. Lovely staff, place is very clean. Great value of money. Well worth a visit!
A Great place for a breakfast on the sea front large breakfast portions great before a day on the beach Or a place to pop in for lunch or dinner defore hitting the attractions.. would highly recommend!
I had a meat breakfast which was exactly what you expect and want from a traditional breakfast. Eggs were perfectly cooked and tasty, crispy hash browns and It was all cooked well along with crispy bacon too! Big doorstop toast and lush welsh butter accompanied by pots of beans and tinned tomatoes which can be added as you work through your breakfast! Nice strong tea also. Best traditional breakfast I’ve had I’d suggest. Did it eat again all day!!
We went to John's cafe today and was served by a lady who was amazing. She was so patient and kind even though it was busy.
My son is on the spectrum and only eats certain foods The way she catered to him and allowed him to see the drinks in person and asked how many nuggets he wanted and sausages shocked me as noone has ever done that for him.
I then went to pay and the younger man was so polite in the way he helped us with sauces.
The food was amazing too like the last time i ate there but the customer service today was absolutley briliant.
We pop in yesterday for day trip. Everything was clean and tidy and staff was very helpful. Ice-cream look well lush. My son really enjoyed it. Thank you very much
Such lovely friendly staff. Delicious veggie sausage & chips. Stacks of ham, egg & chips. Spotlessly clean. What more do you need on a day to Barry Island?
Fantastic place. The breakfast was huge and delicious. The staff are lovely. If we visit barry again we will definitely be back.
