I booked a friends baby shower here on a Sunday when they weren’t open and they were so accommodating!! Helpful, friendly and inviting ladies at the parlour tea room! We also had a Alice in wonderland theme and they were incredibly laid back in letting us decorate the place to our theme (as long as no holes etc of course!) and even helped us set up. The food was amazing and you can tell they really loved hosting as there was so much detail and pretty finishing touches on the afternoon tea. Would recommend to anyone! Thanks for making my friends babyshower perfect! 😊

I highly recommend The Parlour Tearoom! We had afternoon tea for a baby shower consisting of 14 people and were allocated the corner seating area which was perfect as we had a little privacy but were not feeling like we’d been hidden away. The place was booked up and a birthday party was happening at the same time but this didn’t impact the service or our enjoyment at all as there was room for everyone and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The staff are lovely and helpful right from the enquiry and booking up through to the event. We were allowed in ahead of the booking to decorate the corner and table which was really helpful as it meant we were not rushing. The ladies are attentive, welcoming and friendly. There was plenty of food, to the point that the youngest member of the party exclaimed ‘more cake?!’ when we had already devoured the sandwiches, crisps and scones and the slabs of cake arrived (which we took home in party bags). Will certainly be back soon!

What an amazing place. I have had afternoon tea at most of the known hotels in the area and folk out the £70 odd they charge and always leave feeling underwhelmed, either because their food is dull or the portion sizes are so small that im still hungry... But well done Parlour Tearoom. We ordered the farmers tea for £22 pp and the food was amazing and we were so stuffed that we had to doggy bag the cakes. You are amazing value for money. The decor of the building is great as well. Its like going back to a traditional England. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The posh hotels need to send their sales people to you so you can teach them how afternoon tea should be done. Will be returning more often.

Wow! Last weekend nine of us attended a baby shower at the tearoom. We prebooked and we all ordered afternoon tea. From the beginning to the end of the visit was amazing. We were welcomed by a very friendly waitress who took our order. Two of the party were Coeliac (gluten free) and they had put aside slices of cake for us incase we wanted it. The sandwiches were excellent especially the gluten free. They can be dry and tasteless but these were full of filling and perfect. The gluten free scones were the best you could get. They didn't crumble and you were able to spread jam and cream easily. The carrot cake was lovely too. Moist, tasty and didn't crumble. The other guests enjoyed their afternoon teas as well. A huge variety of sandwiches and cakes. Friendly staff throughout. We weren't rushed at all. We were able to sit back and relax. Even at the end we were all paying separately and one of us cleared the payment. The waitress excepted the apology and sorted it for us. One of the reviews mentioned that this place was as good as places in London. I honestly have to agree. Perfect from beginning to the end. We will all be returning in the future.

The food is always amazing, especially the homemade cakes. The atmosphere is always calm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quaint afternoon tea experience. They also cater for gluten free and vegan diets.

Lovely treat from my best friend for my birthday and food and vibe was great! Egg Mayo sandwich, crisps and Rainbow cake were all amazing! I love that you can choose different set menus and not just your standard mix of sandwiches and cakes to share! I am quite fussy so being able to have my own sandwich and pick a slice of cake was perfect! Staff are also friendly I Would definitely recommend as a lunch out with the family, couples, friends etc Only downside it’s communal parking so difficult when it’s busy and the toilets are also communal as it’s a mix of business but wheelchair friendly!

Beautiful little Tea Room I have been wanting to go there for quite a while and finally made it. Really loved their cream tea. The cake was nice, the buttercream way too sweet for my liking though. The ambience was lovely and I would definitely come back!

I had lunch at the tearoom, Thursday 20th April. I had a salmon and cream cheese sandwich, clotted cream and jam scone and Victoria sandwich and it was all absolutely delicious. The scone was warm and soft and just melted in your mouth, unlike some scones that can be a bit dry. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I will definitely be going back there again.
