Excellent. The most extensive fresh kids menu, great specials and nice ambiance. Jess looked after us very well at short notice, flexible with dietary requirements and friendly staff. A lovely family lunch

Had a lovely meal here with my family over the weekend. I myself had the wild boar sausage and mash special. It was absolutely to die for! This pub is the perfect combination of cosy country feel and busy restaurant. The menu is packed full of choices to cater to everyone. The specials menu changes with the season so is always well suited to weather and feel. The pub itself is very clean and well put together, the staff are exceptional, the best team in the local area from a personal customer perspective! The prices are reasonable, portion sizes decent. Overall this place is a gem and definitely worth the visit! I don’t have a single bad word to say about it.

Had a lovely afternoon in The Hatch, garden food area as we had booked a table but sat outside, entrance from the carpark which is behind on the right, was awesome as you walk over a stream, (kids will love this). Path to the entrance, very clean inside, we ordered our refreshments and these were fresh, so after made our choice of food and please (remember your table number). There's a good selection of meals and puddings for all types. Prices are fair. Pleasant atmosphere inside and out. Staff had been friendly and polite which will make your visit awesome.

One word: Wow!! They've had a recent refurbishment, so thought I'd pop in with the family to see what it was like. I was very pleasantly surprised. Menu was varied and offered some very nice specials (Korean BBQ pork) along with the usual suspects (burgers, pies, fish and chips etc). Definitely something for everyone, including kids. My 2 year old absolutely LOVED his sausage and mash. He's not a fussy eater, but it's testament that he polished off the majority of his meal. My beef and ale pie was absolutely one of the best pies I've ever had in a pub. I haven't eaten all the pies (yet), but I know a good pie when I eat one. Staff were welcoming, attentive and an absolute credit to the Hatch. Nothing was too much trouble and I hope they get a regular pat on the back for doing an amazing job. Prices were EXTREMELY reasonable in these troubled times (cost of living crisis and all that). To get away with 2 x adult meals, a kids meal and drinks for under £50 is a big tick in my book. Portions were very generous which is more than can be said for other local pubs. Ultimately, this is one of the best pubs in the area. Booking a table is advised as the secret is out and they were fairly busy on a Tuesday lunch time. Hope to come back soon and sample more of the menu 👍

We had the best time getting to experience the brand new Hatch after its refurbishment! Firstly it’s just beautiful, the refurbishment has made it stylish, comfortable and very welcoming. Secondly the food was just a delicious as always- it’s always so hard to pick what to have (FYI I had the Korean BBQ Chicken strips, the seabass & scallop risotto and the sticky toffee pudding!). Thirdly, the staff were friendly, welcoming and as attentive as ever (and very excited to show off the beauty of the place) However most importantly to us it took dog friendly to a whole new level. They have expanded the area that is dog friendly. Then there are dog bowls, poo bags, dog blankets and beds by the door! Our little puppies loved the little bed and were very welcomed there. We would recommend this place to everyone. 🙂

Oh. My. Goodness. I have sampled a few Sunday lunches in Basingstoke but this place was outstanding. We started with squid w/sweet chili sauce (it was delicious), and pâté (tiny pot, packed full of flavour - would order again). For mains we had one rib of beef (I always love this cut but you can tell when it has be a low and slow roast - melt off the bone delicious, what was in that gravy?!) and one trio of meats (all the meats were succulent - nothing was under seasoned or poorly represented on the plate). Puddings, we ordered sticky toffee pudding I think 🤔 and a mini cheese cake with a brulee top - so well executed. The food was delicious, staff members were attentive without being intrusive. The decor, ambiance and vibe was a winner. Cannot wait to return

*dog friendly* in the bar area only, and outside. Nice enough pub. Food was fine. We sat outside but between the traffic noise and the wasps we moved inside. Staff were pleasant. Didn't agree that the table should be wiped down with a bucket of dirty water, but I'm a clean freak, my husband was perfectly happy with it. Good selection of low-alcohol beers and cocktails.
