Visited here a few times for drinks and the atmosphere has always been good.
Great selection of spirits available, including lots of gins/rums.
There is occasionally live music on a Friday or Saturday night, or they tend to show the sport of a major tournament is on - most recently the rugby! (we won't talk about that game...)
Prices are what you'd expect from most pubs, so not overly expensive/cheap.
There is an additional area upstairs that you can request to book of you're having a work event or just a large group of you turning up. Have never had a problem here.
If the drinks prices mean you can't spend your whole evening here, there's always the Wetherspoons next door to get a few cheap rounds in.

Went in for the first time in ages and still a great pub. Beer selection is great, always a proper pub atmosphere, and always a smile and a friendly greeting from the staff. Shame you don't seem to do food anymore as you were actually really good at that as well. But not to be put off coming here. The good folk of Basingstoke should appreciate this pub a bit more.

I noticed Bakers reopened this week and decided to have a look inside, there was signage outside detailing their events for the week so looks like this could be a good bar to visit for different things like happy hours after work or live music and sports on the weekends.
Chatting with the barstaff was lovely and she was happy to discuss their collection of drinks (with more soon to come apparently) I thoroughly enjoyed both a pint from the tap and a gin with pretty garnish.
From our chatting, this pub has done some great market research and I would recommend trying them out because it was good vibes all round :) hopefully their live events and things go just as well as my visit!

Dog friendly pub up top of town. They treat your furry friends amazingly with water and treats, and the decor is lovely! Really well done to you guys for turning a dire pub into a social haven

This pub seems to be going through a proper turnaround! Went in the other day and saw the manager working hard on the pool table area and it looks amazing! He has also put a lot of time into the garden which is very enjoyable to sit in now!! Very excited to return!!

Jay enabled a large group of us to use the upper bar for a social function which went very well thanks to the friendly staff and management team. We'll definitely use the Bakers again for another family get together soon.

Great atmosphere for sports, they have a pool table which is great. A wide variety of drinks and beers. Lovely, kind staff. Come here if sports is on and it's a nice chilled relaxing vibe when sports aren't on.

We come here every Tuesday evening for a few drinks and games of pool. Really friendly staff, prices are good and food has been lovely. It's also quiet so you often feel like you've got the place to yourself. Bring back the smirnoff ice though or keep a few behind the bar for my wife pls 😆

Great Pub / Great Venue - Jay the Manager kept in touch and made sure we had everything we needed for holding works drinks at the pub. Over 30 of us enjoyed good food and good beer. The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have the upstairs bar ready when we arrived rather than later! Having said this most of us did not mind at all and Jay was extremely helpful all evening! Great Service. Thanks

Friendly and helpful staff, great layout with various floors and nice rear garden. Typical greene king menu. The food was good, I had the chicken platter and my partner had the festive pie. Obviously it's not luxurious restaurant food, but it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The beer was nice, very clean and crisp. The only downfall is this, each time I have eaten here, most of the time my first option is usually off the menu due to not being prepared or not in stock.
