Geat meal and great service, despite a super hot and busy (fathers day) we were later on in the day 6pm, and only one dish not available from a good menu, and staff still as friendly and professional as always. Great traditional english pub!

Love this pub as it reminds me of the pubs in Kent and of a couple of very old houses I had in Kent. Furnished beautifully in keeping with the beams and atmosphere is always great. Added bonus, you can take your four legged friend if you wish. It is a great shame they no longer do the Early Bird Menu mid week. Most venues now are offering some sort of deal mid week and, certainly, if the 5 Bells could reinstate the Early Bird Menu, we would be frequent visitors during the week. Today had Sunday Lunch, could not fault it, delicious. Staff all great. Asked our waitress if hops strung along beams were fresh? Mark, the Manager, had been to Kent to collect new hops from one of the farms🤗 Only sad point was that we could not book for Christmas Day as full😡 Oh, they have a Defibrillator on front wall if the bill sends you into cardiac arrest - only joking😁

The best pub restaurant in the area. We travel 40 minutes cross country roads to get here. If you’re looking for a country pub that serves exceptional food then this is the place to go. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. Well above average pub menu. They have a very good chef. Starters, main and dessert all excellent. They have a very attentive and friendly head waiter, something a lot of places don’t have, this makes a big difference. We have taken many friends here and they have all commented on how good it is.

We have been to The Five Bells around a dozen times in the last couple of years.. We went last Sunday as a party of three. Whilst we had to wait at the bar around 10/15 minutes for our prebooked table.. Once seated, the service was really good! The atmosphere is always fairly busy in the restaurant and bar, but in a quaint place with lovely decor. We hadn't been on a Sunday before the menu had less choice than on weekdays.. The food was nice, the portion sizes and quality were good! Sadly, the Yorkshire puddings were overcooked and cold.. I like al dente, but the broccoli was almost raw.. The mash potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and meats were all really nice! We will definitely go again as it is well located to meet with friends and family.. It would most likely be on a weekday, though, as the food on weekdays has always been better and cooked fresh to order.

This place was gorgeous! I called about an hour or so before we arrived asking if they could seat 8 of us. They could only seat 6 but "luckily" 2 of our group were stuck in traffic, enroute! The welcome we recieved was so warm & friendly, we felt like locals... & the food was 10/10!! Deliscious😋😋 Mark (staff) was attentive & so accomadting with our order, we only wish we lived closer, so we could be "real" locals at this pub! Highly recommend👍🏻

Brilliant night out at The Five Bells! It was our first visit here and it won't be our last. Excellent food, atmosphere and staff, who were under seige with the pub filling up by the second. Even though we hadn't booked a table they managed to accommodate us and the service was surprisingly quick considering how many people were dining. I recommend booking or calling ahead first if you plan on going. Overall, an overwhelmingly positive experience!

Visited several times now. Food and service has been fantastic. Steaks are cooked to perfection and taste so good, you can tell they use quality ingredients. Decor is very quirky and fun reminds me of a old school pub with all the decor. If you want good food cone here, advise to book as gets very busy.

Booked a table for a Sunday lunch with family. We were seated straight away, and although the restaurant is fairly tightly packed, both with tables and a lot of memorabelia, we were not crowded around the table and it was a comfortable spot. Service was quick and friendly, although we were told when ordering to expect a wait of around 25 minutes for food, which was fairly accurate. It wasn't a problem though, and worth waiting for freshly cooked food! The meals were excellent and went down very well, except for the roast beef, which was good but a bit tough and fatty. The choice was also very good, including a separate vegetarian and vegan menu. Desserts were also good value, very delicious and there was plenty of choice. Tip: allow enough time to find parking around the village, as the carpark does not always seem to be in use, and street parking can get busy.
