Stayed for the weekend, fantastic place, amazing food, lovely, friendly staff and the owner, Kav couldn't have been more accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.
One of the best places I have had the pleasure to stay in and look forward to a return visit. Would highly recommend

We went for our anniversary meal and stayed overnight. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, there was a good buzz in the restaurant which was full on a Tuesday night, the food was delicious and beautifully cooked. The room was perfect, large, spotlessly clean, very tastefully styled and furnished with good quality items....lovely comfortable bed, bedding, quality soft furnishings, lovely fluffy towels, lovely selection of teas, body wash, lotion etc. Nice little touches like books on the bedside table. A very good choice. If I had to make any suggestions, I'd say shower caps would be useful as it's a large rain shower and not everyone wants to get their hair wet. Wines are pricey!
An eating experience! Superb food and very good wine. The service was excellent and it was lovely to take my dog, sit anywhere, and be made really welcome. A must, on my next visit to Somerset.
The food was absolutely fantastic, we all ended up having three courses because it was all just so delicious.
The setting is beautiful too.with the church behind.
The garden is lovely and we had a drink there before our meal. We will definitely be going back soon.
It was busy, so if you would like to go, you need to book in advance. There is only one vegetarian option for each course and no vegan options.
Main courses were great. Pudding (treacle tart) was good but not ‘restaurant good’. Burnt tough pastry with nonetheless a tasty filling. The service was polite but we had to really work hard to get their attention. Didn’t feel like there was someone in charge. Overall definitely a good place to eat but some improvement required. Would return.
Had an incredible stay the other weekend. The rooms and restaurant are beautiful but the front room around the bar still feels vital in way that isn’t the case in so many pub restaurants. The room had great bed linen, tea, products etc and was furnished in a beautiful, practical way. Breakfast both mornings was excellent. We only had dinner the first night but the rabbit and bacon pie was astonishingly good and great value. Batcombe was a lovely village.
Beautiful pub, great atmosphere, good service. The only downside was the lack of options for dairy free/vegan food. It would have been good to have a couple of options as three members of our party are dairy free (due to allergies). Hopefully they will incorporate this with time. Other than that lovely pub/restaurant for a drink and some bar snacks.
Stayed here for three nights over the weekend. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I had ever slept in. Rooms were beautifully decorated with a huge bath in the bathroom! Breakfasts in the morning were also delicious.
With regards to the pub food this was 10/10 using fresh local produce. Staff were also attentive. Overall great stay I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
Wonderful stay at the Three Horseshoes for three nights. The rooms are so comfortable and beautifully finished. The food is absolutely delicious. Helpful, friendly staff and a lovely setting in the village of Batcombe. We are already booking to come back in autumn. Such a special place. Thank you!
A truly fabulous lunch. Great small menu, well priced and high quality food. Whilst not a traditional pub menu, there are plenty of those options nearby. The garden patio is gorgeous and I would definitely stop by again.
We had a fantastic meal here. Down to earth but incredibly friendly and caring service, generous portions and delicious food.
We thought the price compared to the quality was very good and were happy to pay a little bit more than pub prices for exceptionally well prepared food and good portions.
We will definitely return and are happy to find a place that offers something special and different from the hundreds of other pubs offering "pub grub" (and don't get me wrong I love a pub that offers good pub grub too!!!)
