Great food, fantastic wine and wonderful hosts are just 3 of the reasons why it's my favourite restaurant of all. And when you ask your waiter ( this time the lovely just returned Ross) to recommend a really good Red off the wine list and he goes with the cheapest on the list and it's gorgeous it proves that this place is top class. I love it !!!!!
My Husband had booked this for me for my birthday lovely place and the food was amazing one of the best Italian restaurants I've her been too.. The staff were very friendly and helpfull couldn't fault anything😀 would defo recommend and will be returning Thankyou for a lovely evening
Staff went above and beyond to make our 35th anniversary extra special. The food and atmosphere were great. Highly recommended and look forward to returning.
Really good food and ambiance. We were 2 vegetarians on the table and the staff was soo hospitable and made us something we suggested. The service is really really good.
Over the Winter break my favourite dining partner and I headed to Bath for a couple of days of relaxation before the Christmas festivities began. On choosing a restaurant for our lunch time arrival we took to TripAdvisor to find out where had been well reviewed. It’s unusual for the top 10 to be affordable let alone number 1, so we were surprised to see such rave reviews associated with what looked like a very reasonably priced restaurant Sotto Sotto.
Greeted by huge smiles and welcomes from all the staff, service was like fine dining without all the poshness. Great value - pastas were all £10 or under, very generous portions (we nearly didn't finish after sharing a tomato bruschetta and tuna carpaccio entrees). Had the seafood orrichiette in tomato, bean and chilli sauce and the linguine king prawns with olives and sundries tomatoes in napoletana sauce. All very good quality ingredients, authentic Italian cooking. Also can't not mention the yummy tiramisu (not too sweet- a great balance). A real gem of a restaurant - MUST visit if you're in Bath!
Dining at Sotto Sotto was a wonderful experience. They were able to fit us in as walk-in on a Saturday evening. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service from start to finish. The flavors of the risotto were rich and perfectly balanced between salmon and lemon. I highly recommend the prawn bruschetta, and to save your bread to dip into the delicious sauce!

Unfortunately, on the day we had booked a table, I wasn't feeling at my best, with flu-like symptoms and impacted taste buds, but my wife can definitely attest to the quality and fabulous taste of the food.
The place has a great atmosphere and very friendly service with Italian waiters, and I can see why we had been unable to book a table on the initially desired day (a Friday), as the restaurant is clearly very popular, and for good reason.
I would definitely love to go back there next time I'm in Bath, and when I feel well enough to properly enjoy the food.
Best restaurant in Bath!
We were traveling to Bath and looking for a restaurant for dinner.
Then we visited this restaurant and fortunately, there was a table to eat.
Calamari was not tough but soft, and pork belly truffle pasta became the best pasta of my life!
And all the staff were very kind and made us feel good. Especially, the server in charge of the table we sat on was very kind!
I want to come back to this restaurant, so I will definitely come back to Bath!
I visited this place for lunch. The moment I walked into the restaurant, I was warmly greeted with bright smiles and seated. The ambiance and the food were absolutely perfect. Especially, the friendly service from Lakmal made the meal even more enjoyable. Thank you, I'll visit again next time :)
The best food I have ever had! Me and my boyfriend came here for our anniversary. We were greeted with very polite staff who were attentive to us all evening. They even left us a little note on the table to congratulate us. Food was quick and absolutely delicious. Likewise the wine was amazing. As I said before, the best food I have ever tasted. For pudding we got tiramisu, they wrote ‘happy anniversary’ on the dish. Everything was amazing. Such a beautiful place too.
We will be back !!! :))
Travelled in from London. Was looking for different restaurants and so glad we were recommended this one. The service there from start to finish was excellent, Luciano (our waiter) made sure everything was perfect and the food was to die for. I never give reviews as I see it as a waste of time but everything about this place made me feel compelled to share my experience with strangers looking for places to eat because you won't be disappointed. The price was also very good, 2 started, 2 mains, 1 bottle of red and glass of white was only £100, and your getting top, top quality of food. So make sure you go to this place if you haven't already.
Must visit! This place is located in a beautiful cave. The food was delicious, especially the prawn bruschetta. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and nice. Cannot wait to go back. Definitely a gem in Bath
authentic italian with affordable price. we are a group of four. ordered salmon, lamb, steak and pasta. all are very outstanding. the only thing that can be improved is the staff's photography skills. anyway great service from the staff
Fantastic.
First of all, the food was amazing. Every starter we ordered was spot on (we ordered the prawns bruschetta, the breaded cod, the mushrooms with goat cheese and they even let us order the fettuccine with butternut squash and pork belly as a starter).
For main, I took the fettuccine lamb ragu which was very nice.
The only thing I could fault the mains was that the salmon fillet could have been served with more potatoes.
The service was exceptional. Lakmal really did an amazing job: he was attentive, available (even though the restaurant was quite full), and super friendly.
I absolutely recommend this restaurant.
If you’re looking for a unique dining experience look no further than booking at Sotto Sotto in Bath.
Don’t let the outside fool you once down stairs you are met with a stunning secluded wine cellar bar, the vibe is sophisticated very chilled and relaxing, but not at all stuffy or pompous.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming the service was excellent.
Our server was Lakmal (Lucky) he was most attentive but not overly so, a very kind soul, his service was on point, especially for someone who has only been working in Soto for 1 month.
The food was excellent I couldn’t fault a thing. Hardest part was deciding what to go for, I would recommend the Swordfish and Salmon main and the Chocolate Mousse dessert was delicious.
Definitely worth a visit, book in advance as very popular.
Can’t wait to visit again when next back in Bath.
