The Bathwick Boatman Riverside Restaurant

Ate here for the second time recently, after commenting on the lack of vegetarian options a couple of years ago. I’m pleased to say that the vegetarian options were absolutely delicious this time, particularly the lentils & beans in pastry with a rich tomato sauce. Our meat eating family members also loved the options on offer. The restaurant is in a beautiful location of the river and was beautifully lit with candles and fairy lights too.

Ate at the Bathwick Boatman as part of our week's stay in Bath, and what a nice experience it was. The location is good being right on the banks of the river Avon. The food is of a high standard, it was full of flavour and beautifully presented and the staff are super friendly and professional. It was a lovely night out.

This place was lovely. The food was amazing and delicious with each course being faultless. The staff were friendly and accommodating after making a very last minute reservation. We sat out on the terrace which was nice, with the staff bringing blankets and cushions. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It's a place where it's unlikely to be, but it's a gem on its own. The ambience is chill and they have put a lot of effort with their table setting. Perfect for a quick getaway date night or day. The food is also worth the money you're paying for. Some key note though, the food is a bit on the salty side. But the portions are generous and nicely done. We shared the appetizers and forgot to take a photo of the dessert. We purchased the 3-course meal for £30 each.

I had, without a doubt, my favourite meal here on a sunny Good Friday afternoon. We wandered down from the city centre, which took just under 15 minutes, to find this restaurant which felt like a quiet, leafy sanctuary on the riverside. The inside of the restaurant looked lovely, but since it was so sunny we opted for a balcony table with fantastic views over the water. The service was perfect right from the moment we called to book a table and the warm welcome continued throughout the meal. Even the simple bread and butter which arrived with the starter was delicious, and the calamari starter the tastiest we have ever had. The pork belly - juicy, crispy and tender - was cooked and presented to perfection and the flavours and quality of my fresh bream was enough to leave me thinking and talking about it for the next few hours. I could not recommend this place enough, and will be to everybody I know, for the highest quality food, great menu and the loveliest service. I will be back very soon to try something everything else on the menu. It is so rare to find a place which simply cannot be faulted. Thank you for a great lunch.
