I heard a lot about this place so I decided to finally try it. There was a bit of queue outside but it moves very fast. We only waited few minutes. The interior seems quite small but there’s plenty of space inside. We were seated on the second floor. We tried the Sally Lunn’s bun with clotted. Mine was with the cinnamon which was very good. My husband had just the clotted cream and jam. The bun is huge so you can easily share for two. We had one for each and we ate everything fine. It was very good though quite simple. It’s a must do if you’re in Bath.
Visited with my girlfriend as a finale to a 3 day birthday weekend. I had visited Bath previously with my father but he was much to impatient to queue for this in the middle of the day.
Lady & I visited of an early evening so fell within scope of the dinner menu.
I had the Braisee Beef & Mushroom Trencher, she had the savory pie of the day, Lamb.
Both dishes were an enjoyable dinner before our long drive home. Vegetables, meat, bread & pastry were served in a charming dining room. The food itself was like a home cooked comfort food meal. A worthwhile visited for historical importance & local culinary fare in Bath.
Really enjoyable afternoon meal here at Sally Lunn's Bun Shop. The building is super old and has lots of history. **they have gluten and dairy free scones and a gluten free brownie that is delicious** so if you don't eat bread you can still enjoy a great afternoon tea here. The buns are huge and they have an assortment and sweet or savory toppings, soups, scones and desserts. Several tea options, the house blend was really nice. It was getting a little busy and you have to ask for refills if you need anything but otherwise all of ladies working were very nice. I would recommend coming here for a great historical experience in Bath and the food is great.
What a great place with it’s magical atmosphere and matching medieval music. We came here for a dinner. My girlfriend has been here before and ask me to come with her.
She said those buns are must to try with Guinness which has an old style original bottle. >>> Really adds on to the whole experience. 🤩 I had confit duck with peas and sweet onion sauce (I believe). It was very satisfying. And apricot brownie with homemade vanilla ice cream 🍨. 🫠
The service was great and prompt.
Highly recommend to visit Sally Lunn’s when you are in Bath.
One thing it can be improved, and it’s the noise from the washing station where the noise was quite disturbing.
Been here 3 times. It’s a go-to place when someone comes to visit me in England. Tried both their savouries and sweet, my fav is still the lemon curd one. There is always a line outside, so be patient or come on odd hours. Building is very narrow but delicately decorated and maintained. Food was served really quickly and staff was very friendly.
This historic place deserves all the hype. The Sally Lunn buns are a must try when in Bath.
The buns are freshly made, super soft and slightly toasted. Available in both sweet and savoury.
We tried the sweet buns with cinnamon butter and Cornish tea and chocolate butter with clotted cream. Both the buns were scrumptious. The Sally Lunn tea is also a must try over traditional tea option. Contradictory to the reviews, found the service quick and the staff to be friendly and helpful.

What a great place, steeped in history. The food great, the service excellent....atmosphere good. A bit of wait but do it as you won't be disappointed. We had the Steak and Mushroom Trencher and the special of the day Creamy Pork !! SUPERB
Best of all was the service from Spanish Frank, what a great guy....has worked there 33yrs and has served everyone admirably with a smile and a story....thanks for making out day.
Also had a "Milk Jam"......a super dessert !!
We will see you again, thanks.

Highly recommended if you visit Bath. We had a wonderful dinner here and of course tried their famous bun. You can reserve a table for dinner (with limited options) but not for lunch. The queue was quite long when we went there and glad that we had a booking. The food was very good and the staff was very friendly as well. (The only thing that wasn’t great was that the lemonade was not cold enough). Will come back again (but probably not during the weekend/bank holiday)
Yummmm!!!
I had their famous cinnamon butter bun and it was one of the best toasted buns I have eaten.
So soft, perfectly toasted and the cinnamon better was delicious.
A cute cozy tea house with so much history - loved it.
we loved the savoury buns so much that we had to come back the next day to try the sweet buns and loved them as well; it might be touristy but for all the right reasons and totally worth coming here!
