Chilli Family Noodles

Great sichuan style noodle restaurant in Bath - food was hot and fresh, service was decent, and the place was busy the entire time (we came in the mid-afternoon). We ordered the crispy duck with hot and sour glass noodles and the braised beef with fried noodles and recommend both if you're looking for a change of pace from traditional British fare

Don't judge a book by its cover! It is probably the best authentic Chinese food in Bath. I visited the Chilli Family quite regularly almost 10 years ago when I needed a quick and delicious noodle. Always busy, especially lots of Asian students. My favourite dish is 'Fried Hofun Noodles with Crispy Duck', which was amazing! Definitely 5 stars for the food! They have a sign’Cash Only’ but they take a Card as well please ask. Simply the best. Must try!

Ordered the chongqing xiaomian with the crispy duck. The meat and spicy soup noodle was really good and appropriately spicy. I liked that I could add vinegar from the bottles by the counter. Also had the dumplings which were meaty and good. The black coffee was decent coming out of noodle store and quite cheap at only 2 pound.

We chanced upon this place on our way to Bath city centre and were captivated from first sight to the last mouthful! Bustling with customers and brimming with familiar smells from our past experience with similar Chinese cuisine, we definitely were not disappointed to say the least! We were seated outside, which was completely pleasurable in the clear autumn weather. Soup was nicely spicy and sour (a little too sour for some :P) and only the beef tripe was a tad saltier than preferred. A wonderfully satisfying experience all round!!

Went there yesterday with the family, after spending the day visiting Bath. The food was amazing, portions were generous and at a very affordable price. I cannot stress enough how good the duck was. We had to ask for a second portion, because the food was amazing~~! The staff were really kind and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes, piping hot. You also have the option to choose whether or not you want your dish to be spicy, which was very helpful for our group since we have different taste. Chopsticks are available upon request and they moved the tables around to fit our group, so we were able to eat all together. It's a small restaurant, so it's perfect for a break of the busy city and you're able to enjoy the rare English sun whilst enjoy delicious food. 100% recommended. We look forward to visit again~~!

Authentic Chinese food at affordable prices. The setting is quite basic but adds to the authenticity of a honest hole in the wall food joint. My only gripe is that they are cash only. There’s no real reason why they shouldn’t take card even pre/post pandemic unless it’s for tax reasons... they drop one star for this.
