just dropped son off to his uni digs around the corner from The Bear and popped in here for lunch - food was lovely. The pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff extremely pleasant and can't do enough for you - we asked for pudding after kitchen was shut and they came up trumps. Can't wait to pick son up in summer to be able to pop in for lunch again. At 6.30pm i'm still full.

Great hotel!!!! The 2 lads behind the bar were fantastic. So enthusiastic and looked like they really enjoyed working there. I only had breakfast but the quality again was fantastic and I believe all room prices include breakfast. Main reason I stayed there was for the fact it has a car park. The room itself was great value and a very good size. Bathroom nice and modern. Only 10 minute walk to city centre but only thing I would say is its a the top of a steep hill so elderly may struggle but taxi is very cheap into town.

We popped in on the off chance for Sunday roast, and so glad we did. It was delicious. Good friendly service too. Its not cheap but not much more expensive than most pubs these days. We will definitely be back

Didn't stay at The Bear only ate there with friends. Menu limited but decent selection of dishes. All well cooked and nicely presented. Dessert was something else!!! Lovely evening enjoyed by all.

Delicious Sunday lunch. Beef was soft and Yorkshire pudding was perfect and veg was great. Horseradish was a bit bland, choose mustard if you want flavour in that department.

We only went for the "Pub" facilities so can't say anything about the place as somewhere to stay. It's a great location and the place was impeccable. Very convenient for where we were staying in Bath. Happy to recommend it.

Just finished a fantastic dinner here after a long day of driving through the Cotswolds. Ali our host was a model of Hospitality from the moment we walked in the door and Otto our waiter was perfectly timed in his visits to our table and recommendations and follow up. This is how hospitality should be! Thanks guys. All the best.

We came for a family dinner and couldn't have been happier with the service. Our youngest have quite a few allergies (including one that is not a major allergen) and finding a place that can cater for us can be challenging. At the Bear Inn we were looked after by the amazing Freya who went over all expectations to ensure our son could have a great meal. She was attentive, very careful and playing back the requirements (very important when dealing with allergies!) and super friendly. There are not many places in the city that would go that far to address allergies. We have now added the Bear Inn to our list of favourite places to go and will for sure recommend it to friends.

We had a 4 night break here and from as soon as we checked in I knew I loved this place even before we saw our room. It has a lovely warm welcoming feel to the place. Even though our room was standard it was of a very good size with a large bathroom that had a bath also, which pleased my partner. There was also a mini fringe which I love to find in my room as I can keep my water and soft drinks cold plus the odd cheeky bottle of wine. The room was spotlessly clean with daily clean towels and restock of items. We had breakfast each morning we stayed. Fantastic choice and cooked to perfection. Plenty of coffee and juice. The staff was very officiant, friendly and helpful. The Bear is situated in a good spot to walk into the centre of Bath. We are already thinking of when we can rebook
