Lovely place to stay in Battle great central location with easy parking. I arrived late on a Tuesday to be welcomed by super friendly staff that were kind and knowledgeable. I had the pumpkin soup, the chicken kebabs and a super fresh pint of Harveys Best Bitter. Rooms were good and warm. Lovely place and i hope to return again soon.
Great pub. Great guinness. Lovely friendly staff. Stayed in battle for a few days and loved this pub. As a solo traveller everyone including Customers made me feel very welcome. Highlight of my trip.

Amazing find on way to Battle. Friendly and excellent staff - the best roast we have had with cauliflower cheese to die for. A gem of a British pub - really recommend.
Best Sunday lunch around, and had a great Chequers Breakfast today. Dog-friendly, has black pudding if you ask. Love it
