Pleasant little cafe by the heritage line, Coffee is very good, I enjoyed my sausage roll lunch. It's sad they're only running old Pacer units on the line but it's still fun to watch them come in and out. If you're in bedale this is a good place for coffee or lunch. Also a good spot for heritage motorbike spotting, several old Nortons and a Bonnie there when we visited last.

We ordered a Deluxe Afternoon Tea for our mother's birthday earlier this month. In previous years, we would have booked a table and taken her out somewhere special. We thought an Afternoon Tea from a local business would be an OK compromise however, it was SO much better than that! The food was beautifully presented and wrapped with a Happy Birthday sticker and ribbon - thank you - that was a lovely and unexpected touch. The food was delicious, so much variety and choice. Everything was fresh and there were plenty of cakes and sweet treats - more than we could eat, so some left for Mum to enjoy the next day. The little quiches were my own favourite. It was a lovely way to celebrate and Mum was thrilled with her birthday treat. It was excellent value for money and we shall be ordering again next time we visit.

My daughter who lives in London arranged a Deluxe afternoon tea to be delivered on Mother's day 2021. It was delivered on time and was a beautiful presentation with happy mother's day wrapping enclosing the fare. There was everything including 3 types of sandwiches a quiche sausage rolls. The sweets included scones chocolate brownies cheesecake caramel slice. It has taken me and my husband 2 days to eat it. Well done beautifully presented and tasty. Thanks

A true gem of a place! Right next to the station platform at Bedale Station, as the name suggests. Really tasty home made food. Boys had the all day breakfast, I had the cheese and chutney quiche, fab!!! Lovely friendly welcome, tables inside and out, we chose in as rain was threatening. Thanks for a really nice lunch 😋 😊

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the kind and generous staff. We had a lovely afternoon on the Wensleydale train and stopped off to have our refreshments at Platform one cafe. After leaving, I realised my daughter left her unopened bottle of water (which we had purchased) and I returned to the cafe to see if it was still on the table. It wasn’t so I did pop in just to check to see if by chance they had it. They had disposed of it but what I wasn’t expecting was the young girl running after me to me and offering another bottle of water. Such a lovely and kind gesture. Thank you so much. A friendly and great cafe to visit.

We called here for afternoon tea. I rang before we left home as its an hour drive from us to check they were open for afternoon tea. They confirmed they were and reserved a table for us. On arrival our table was ready and laid in preparation. We had afternoon tea for 3. The selection of sandwiches were excellent and freshly prepared. They were 4 savouries and 4 cakes per person and 2 scones with jam and fresh cream per person. All served with enough tea and coffee to sink a ship. Lovely friendly staff, spotlessly clean cafe and well worth 5 stars. Will definitely be back soon.

Just stopped off at Platform One Cafe for a quick bite to eat on the way home from holiday. An absolute gem of a place. Really finished our trip perfectly. Very welcoming to our little dog, who was greeted with a big fuss and a treat. First big tick! The service was spot on! Food was to die for. All homemade, and just what we were looking for. Very reasonably priced considering the quality. Over all, a thoroughly enjoyable hour, and a definite must, for a repeat visit, when we're heading north next! 😁

The Bedale Station cafe, under new management and rebranded, is definitely worth a visit! Our first visit was on pizza night; one of only two evenings that Platform One Tea Rooms are open - pizza night is Fridays and bikers' night is Wednesdays. And the pizzas were delicious! Otherwise open daily (except Monday's) for breakfasts, lunches, morning coffees and afternoon teas. And it's quickly getting a good reputation for their fresh home baked cakes and scones. All you need from a tea rooms! It's a small place with only a handful of tables and the owner/managers are friendly and welcoming. As the name implies, it is located beside the platform of Bedale station on Wensleydale Railway's heritage railway line, with free and easy car parking right outside and just a few minutes walk into Bedale town centre market place.
