We went here with friends on a Saturday night. It was busy and booking is definitely recommended. It’s a family run business and the people are friendly and welcoming. We all had a different pizza and all were delicious. We had the house white wine which was reasonably priced and good. The tiramisu is one of the best I’ve tasted. This is a great place to go if you want simple Italian food , done well. We will definitely return.
We visited on a Friday evening, after waiting some weeks to get in, as this is a very popular place to eat. I had the house pizza and my wife had the Parmigiana Di Melanzane, which was on the cold side. Tables are quite close together, so we were part of the neibouring table 18th birthday celebration. All this said, it's a nice place with a good atmosphere.
I found this place by accident, just popped in for coffee only to find it was a resteraunt, It was quite small and cosy with a rustic feel to it. Even though it was busy it wasn't loud. It was clean. The staff were very accommodating and polite. we had pizza and wine the pizza was very freshly cooked in a stone oven behind the bar. the price was reasonable. There were other dishes on the menu also reasonably price. I would go again and recommend it to anyone.
The pizzas from this place have to be tasted to be believed. Bedford's most authentic Italian experience without question - and what fantastic, warm service from Fonz and the team too!
We went there for lunch and had a great pizza. The service was very quick and efficient, we were served our food in 5 minutes. The pizza tasted good and there was a selection of beers.
Popped in for a late lunch and it was lovely to see how busy it was - always a good sign!
Good menu - we opted for two different pizzas having thought we'd go for filled ciabattas, and were so happy we did. Hot and tasty with a good amount of toppings.
Service was friendly and the place has a real homely feel - we'll be returning for sure.
This was my first lunch time visit. It was busy (suggest booking at peak times). As there was only 2 of us, we got a table immediately. Others were turned away as it was busy. The menu’s typical Italian quick food: pizza, panini, salads, toasted sandwiches.
The staff are always friendly but efficient.
The drinks range is good considering the size of the restaurant.
Use to the restaurant size and number of tables, it may be worth checking if they can accommodate wheelchairs and large prams.
Have visited this restaurant many times and found that the food (pizza, salads, antipasta) is delicious, always very well prepared and presented, atmosphere and decor mediterranean. Highly recommend it.
Very nice place; friendly service, good food. It's a very popular café, and always busy, which is usually a good sign. I am now a regular, and will return soon.
Great, warm ,friendly place to visit. The food is super ,gorgeous pizza, antipasti boards and served with a smile.
Very,very popular - I love visiting !
The pizza here is the true, original pizza.
The dough is soft like in Naples and the ingredients are good.
The staff is very kind and the place is just near the city centre.
Hope you don't come here, so I can always find space for myself.
Managed to get a table on Friday with our family of 5 and had a wonderful experience.
We shared a feast set menu for 3 and had simply one of the nicest meals we've ever had.
A large plate of antipasti with bread, 3 hot dishes - gorgeous meatballs, pork ribs and beans. All for starters.
3 pizzas from the proper pizza oven - the pistachio and Gorgonzola pizza was divine.
Rounded off by coffee and a plate of Italian desserts (inc ice cream for the kids)
The service was faultless, really welcoming. Kind enough to give a homeless (I think) chap a drink where other places would tell him to go away - speaks volumes to me.
We will definitely be back, not sure I can afford every week as per our kids request.
Found this place by chance on a cold November afternoon. Coffee was prefect and the pizza fabulous flavours. I had the truffle and walnut one - delicious and something a little different
Fantastic little restaurant in Bedford town centre. Good quality fresh food, especially the wood fired pizzas - amazing!
Lovely staff, very friendly and cannot do enough for you.
Well worth a visit - or two!
Finally got round to booking a table on a Friday evening and glad I did because several potential diners were turned away. Intimate, friendly atmospheric restaurant with a relatively small menu but great food. My parmigiana melanzane was perfect, and the avocado, mozzarella and burrata salad was amazing! Mr T loves anchovies and his pizza didn't disappoint. House red is good and coffee was excellent. Restaurants often serve bitter, stewed coffee but this was fresh and delicious.
We really like Mama Concetta and will be back.
The taste of rustic Italian food - my new favourite Italian restaurant in Bedford. Went with an Italian friend who also agreed on a five star rating. Would highly recommend.
Mamma Concetta is a local Italian gem with delicious pizza from the stone oven.
Friendly staff. Decent price. Clean.
Having heard so much about it we tried it for lunch. The venue is small and a bit basic but clean. Menu is ok, pizza or panini with all the normal fillings/toppings. Staff were friendly and have to say food was ok. At the end of the day however, it was a pizza! Can’t say anything was wrong with it but conversely can’t get over excited either.
I was on a weekend trip to Bedford and was looking for a typical Italian pizza because as an Italian I was missing it so much! Here I found the perfect Italian pizza, so delicious. And the prices are really good. I will definitely come back!
