Toast

Afternoon tea was really nice, the service was excellent, decor lovely. Scones and sandwiches were delicious, especially as the scones were served slightly warm. The hot chocolate could be improved and I think the choice of the sweet selection could have been a little plainer to appeal to more people. Eg choosing classic’s rather than having a twist on the classics (strawberry profiterole’s). The savoury afternoon tea which costs more looked really nice. The thermal spa was very relaxing, clean, not too many people (roughly 10 people in at a time). A massage chair would elevate this experience.

110% recommend this amazing hotel. It's attentive staff, talented chefs and location. We very recently held our wedding at The Swan. It was seamless from start to finish. From initial correspondence with Sommy in events to the amazing on the day staff lead by the epic Charlotte. Go Swan Hotel, you made our day so special ❤️

Afternoon tea in Anna's Waited a good deal of time in the foyer before being seated. Lovely room, crockery and silverware. Food was excellent but service was shocking, However once seated it felt like we were abandoned with no one asking if everything was OK and having to ask for refills of tea. I did feel sorry for the girl who seemed to managing the whole room on her own ... she did a great job but was very stretched and unable to carry out everything to the high standards o e normally associated with the Swan hotel

Had very good experience food was off good quality and reasonably priced. Only let down was 1 off our party was allergic to mushrooms, ordered the steak with. And yes it turned up with, sent it back and apologies were there came back out fresh steak but was really rare original was ordered med well, sent it back, but to so long we cancelled order, management was very slow coming forward with explanation very disappointing

I only used the thermal spa here so can't comment on the hotel. The spa has its own separate reception area within the hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would say bring pool shoes if you want to wear them or they do sell them for £5. They provide a towel and robe for you to use whilst there and have cold flannels and iced water as well as a seating area. The ladies changing room was well stocked with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream and body lotion. There are also hair dryers and a dryer for your swimming costume !

The rooms were pretty nice. It's a bit of a rabbit warren getting around. The reception isn't obvious, from either the main or rear entrance. The staff weren't overly helpful. When we enquired about snacks or light meals, they directed us out to the high street. It wasn't until we walked back to our room one evening that we noticed someone had left a tray outside their room with plates on it. Surprised they didn't suggest ordering room service. Having read the other reviews we chose not to park at the hotel. The nearby council car parks were free over night, for 2 hours at the start of Saturday, and all day Sunday.
