Six By Nico Belfast

Went for Trust your Chef experience which was consisting of 10 course meal where you don't know what you are going to get served. That was the best part of it, not knowing. My partner and I are food lovers and we love to try new and different things so this was pretty cool experience for us. I gotta say we enjoyed it very much even some of the courses were "different" especially combos where sweet things would meet savoury ingredients. Don't want to spoil it for anyone, however if you like adventurous food then i highly recommend this meal. We have been in this restaurant before and as before we liked it very much there. Lovely atmospehere where chefs/cooks are preparing your courses in front of your eyes if you will look around you. I have to highlight our server, i think his name is Lorens! He is exactly what you would expect from top notch server at this kind of event! Very friendly, patient with our questions and very knowledgeable. Thanks to this restaurant we again experienced something for the first time which turned out to be amazing event!

Amazing food and friendly staff. We were only in Belfast for 3 days celebrating our 25th anniversary in August so googled this restaurant which was only round the corner from our hotel. We love taster menus and no Michelin restaurants were open so this was perfect find for a Monday at short notice. We had never been to Six by Nico before however would go back! Inside had a great vibe and all the staff were really friendly. The food was phenomenal, you could tell every dish had been thought through, everything tasted amazing. Great value for money. They considered my intolerance to garlic. We loved it thank you.

Our night was excellent. We had the "Once Upon A Time" menu with the wine pairing and tried every item on the menu. Fully enjoyed each course from start to finish, and although not a huge fan of red wine they complemented the respective dishes well. My favourite courses were 3 and 6; "I Like Them Sam-I-Am" (Smoked Ham Hough) and "Brucey Brucey" (Chocolate Cremeux). Can also recommend the "Ugly" Dumplings snack and the "Glass Slipper" and "Enchanted Butterbrew" cocktails. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff were for the most part lovely. Conor made the night, good craic and very helpful! The stars I'm withholding on service are for the woman at the front of the house. She didn't seem interested at all, and honestly was quite rude. I had a gift card, which I made her aware of upon arrival. After asking to confirm it was in date, i showed her the email to prove validity (explicitly printed valid until December) only to be met with "Well, we'll have to check that" in a discourteous and somewhat condescending tone. Would certainly go back to try other menus, but her attitude talked them out of a tip.

The menu was great. Playful, smart modern cooking around a fun theme. The food looked beautiful but also tasted fabulous and the six course tasting menu was AMAZING value. My other half had the veggie menu while I had the standard and said that veggies were also really well catered for. I would recommend and would definitely return if back in the area.

First time here. Not what I was expecting which was a quieter and a more sophisticated experience. The theme was Japanese and maybe a more suitable background music should have been a calming Japanese style rather than the throbbing beat of contemporary western music. However, the six course tasting menu with wines was delightful. When the first course came I thought I might be leaving hungry and after 30 minutes but I was wrong. Each course, although small, was a beautiful combination of flavours and textures. The choice of wines were an excellent accompaniment. My 30 minutes turned into 2 hours. So overall a lovely menu and selection of wines with great service. It is noisy so conversation is not easy and the tables are close so maybe not the first choice for a romantic dinner. Would I go again? The food was great but the atmosphere was intrusive so not sure.
