I’m just reviewing this place on its Guinness but I did see something that I did find rather unusual and after reading previous reviews, something is definitely up….. although it did not bother me. The staff are extremely welcoming to tourists, there’s no doubt about that! But, are they as welcoming to people who don’t order alcohol drinks? That I am unsure of. The Guinness - perfectly poured and great taste. A. However, some random people came in and asked for non alcoholic drinks and a coke where the owner instantly replied no and basically told them to go to Starbucks for that. Was kind of odd? But reading the reviews and eavesdropping on the bartenders - there seems to be more to the story? Found that interaction quite odd. The Guinness was on par for Maddens but the service here was much better!!
Absolutely loved it in here the Guinness was a strong 9.8.
The landlord is definitely a character but exceptionally friendly and poured our drinks and delivered them to the table each time. We stayed for 2 drinks as the atmosphere was fabulous and so much to look at.
The whiskey selection is something else and to be honest I could of sat in their all day, tourists, locals and lots to look at.
Be warned they do not do halves of drinks and it was quite clear if you want a soft drink or non alcoholic drink they are clearly not as accommodating, we were given a warm welcome and great service and for that reason it gets 5 stars from us :)
Bittles is a lively spot, with a good atmosphere, and decent beer.
As previously remarked upon, the walls are liberally adorned with paintings of contemporary, mainly political, figures -- a well received quirk. 😀
Really authentic and pleasant atmosphere. Nicely decorated pub. Guinness was the best I have ever had. I liked everything, but it could be even better if they had some food, at least fries or crisps.
First visit in 25 years, but well worth it. Guinness is sublime, friendly welcome and great vibes.
100% the best Guinness in Belfast. Not even close. Also an unbelievable whiskey selection.
Nice little bar, bit of a "blink and you'd miss it" from the outside. Lots of murals and paintings of politicians and famous writers on the inside. Apparently the best Guinness in Belfast but as I'm not an afficionado, I can't confirm.
A tiny bar with a great pint. The Barmen are friendly but also pretty “no nonsense” so you’d do best to know what you want and have payment ready when they come to you. Seating is limited so arrive on the early side if you want to sit inside.
Really cool little bar , wouldn’t know it was there at some parts of the day. Great service however toilets are absolutely filthy.
Beautiful bar with lots of fascinating art and memorabilia. Massive range of whiskeys plus everything else you might want. Best assest is the staff. We meet three on our trip and they were all very friendly, efficient and great for a chat.
