The new managers are doing a great job of putting this place back on the map. Our room was lovely and clean and nicely decorated. We had the choice of pork or beef with usual trimmings. It was quiet when we visited and it felt that the atmosphere was lacking but this was no detriment to the staff. Overall - recommended.

Hi, I visited this weekend for a 1 night stay & it was brilliant. Nice clean modern rooms. Staff are really helpful. The jewel in the crown is the amazing "THE BIG BEAR BREAKFAST". We stopped off for lunch at the suggestion of a local, and the food was superb. Great quality and good value. More veggie options would be a great addition, but they were very helpful. I can’t comment on the accommodation as we didn’t stay.

A lovely small pub with great customer service and delicious food, a cosey atmosphere with that authentic rustic feeling.
Their roast dinners are very nice, with chicken, beef and pork to choose from, all very nicely done to the level of cookedness you prefer (rare/medium/well-done etc).

I am not easy to impress. I believe only 7 weeks into re opening under a new owner, it is clear to see that this is already a well oiled machine. No complaints. We received incredible service, a lovely room, great food. What a delightful experience 😊
we visited here on sunday for a lovely roast, which is absolutely was, just a couple of comments, the gravy was definitely on the runny side, the group of us all like thick rich gravy which this wasn’t. That being said the mash potatoes and the cauliflower cheese was amazing 🤩
