Lockslane Contemporary Bistro - Under New Ownership As Of October 2018

The food was absolutely awesome, It was cooked to perfection! It was our first time to the IOW and the restaurant came highly recommended. The couple that run it are what makes it, he is the chef and she is front of house. They are both really passionate about what they are doing - striving for excellence. There are only 16 covers so book up to avoid disappointment!

Excellent! What else can I say? I ate at Thompson's in Newport the night before and the food at Lockslane beat it hands down! Rachel was an excellent host and James is obviously an excellent chef, I wish them all the best for the future and next time I'm in the IOW I'm definitely going to visit the restaurant!

Second visit and another memorable evening - for all the right reasons. We went last year when staying in Bembridge and couldn't wait to go back! Just as good on our second visit - the service is just right, food excellent and atmosphere relaxed. Yum! I particularly recommend the soup starter they have on the menu at the moment "A fragrant broth of lemongrass, coriander and chilli with 'interesting' mushrooms": it was light and zingy and just what you need to perk up your tastebuds and whet your appetite for the main! Price wise: the two of us had starters, main and dessert, a bottle of wine and bottle of sparkling water and our bill was £72.90.
