The gentleman who waited on us was friendly and helpful. We had fish and chips several places across Europe and this was our favorite. Both the fish and chips were crisp, yet not greasy. So good!!!

Just had a large fish and chips super fresh not overbattered and soggy chips were almost gourmet like just fantastic my friend ordered the pizza again fresh toppings just the right balance very well done. Very reasonably priced with a pot of tea around 28 pounds which is an absolute bargain

This was our 2nd visit of our trip to Berwick because we were so impressed with the 1st! The food was piping hot, tasty and generous portions. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Would recommend giving this place a go

We were visiting Berwick for a few hours. We wanted some fish and chips, found this place. A nice old school chip shop with seats down the side. A huge portion, great chips, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Lovely fish with very crispy batter. All very good.
If I was local I would happily use this place regularly.

Ordered online for pick-up. It was the only chippy we could find in the area that had multiple veggie options. They had battered halloumi that was cooked to perfection, would definitely recommend.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips..!!! We stopped on our way from Leeds to Dundee and it turned out to be a great experience. The place is neat and spacious inside, and they have a load of variety including pizzas, wraps and shawarmas. We’ll definitely use this as a resting stop on future trips.

Absolutely amazing fish n chips! We were staying at the nearby Haven but really wanted proper fish n chips and Castlegate Chippy didn't fail to hit the spot. The fish was massive which is always a hit! Will defo come again if in the area.

Brilliant little find on our day trip to Berwick. Popped in for lunch and was very impressed. Guy who served us was welcoming, jovial and kind. The food was delicious! Kids got half fish and chips, which was even devoured by our picky eater! Hubby had full fish and chips and cleared his plate. I got the fish platter and it was amazing! Half fish, calamari, scampi and fish cake (couldn't finish so had to share haha!). Great prices, nice atmosphere, clean and lovely sesting area. Highly recommend. (No photos as well all dug straight in!)

The food was tasty and the portion size was very good. Also, the price was reasonable and the sitting arrangement was exceptionally large for a Fish & Chips shop. Staffs were very friendly and helpful; the young lady at the counter clearly explained the halal options and the gentleman (perhaps the owner) was very welcoming. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for a fulfilling halal meal at Berwick.

Popped in for some chips at lunch time, really fresh and tasty and lots of them. The person who served me was very pleasant and even explained when I asked what else they had to offer, it all looks very tasty. The premises has been completely renovated since last time I was here and looks really nice with a large comfy great sit-in area for everyone.

I don’t leave reviews very often but this restaurant was fab. Food tasted amazing and very generous portions. The staff were very friendly.
We will definitely be going back again whilst we are on holiday!
