Beverley is a delightful County Town.and every brand if Chain Coffee shop is represented, sometimes more than once. But if you want something more individual then go to Walkers of Well Lane. It is only just off the beaten track but within easy reach of the train station. Run by three ladies has a friendly ambience and good service. Above all cakes to die for, but they do pies and savoury too. Proper cups and saucers and teapots too. Well Good.

A really good traditional cafe, such a pleasant contrast to the boring chains. Plenty of freshly prepared homemade food to choose from. Reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit.

This was my first visit to Walkers café and tea-room and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was looking for a good brunch in Beverley and it did not disappoint. It is conveniently located on Well Lane opposite Marks and Spencer and there is plenty of parking close by. It looks to be a small establishment but this is deceptive. It operates on two floors and is quite large, comfortable and roomy. You order downstairs, take a tray to where you are sitting, and the food, when ready, is brought to your table. The process therefore is quick and efficient. The service is good and very friendly. The menu is quite extensive and represents good value. If you want a full breakfast it can be large, gluten free, veggie or for kids. You can order eggs in many different forms. I chose Egg Royale at just under £7. The portion was generous, attractively presented and extremely tasty. I can really recommend it but the Florentine and Benedict varieties also looked smashing. Breakfast muffins are available, baps, jacket potatoes and a good choice of sandwiches. The tea I ordered came in a big pot, was warm and fresh. Just the job! Walkers caters effectively for children and for those with special dietary requirements. All in all, a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Great local cafe for lunch on a cold wintry day. It is located off the main shopping street, so look out for their A board. We found a seat upstairs, ordered and paid at the till. We ordered baked potato, bacon bap, coffee and tea, all arrived quickly and was very tasty and hot. It’s good value at £14 and well worth trying this tea shop if you are in Beverley. It’s good to support local businesses and we try when we can.

My friend and I had the most delicious lunch with great service. We are trying as many Beverley eateries as we can and this is one of the best so far.

Have had a few good breakfasts in other locations in Beverley but decided to give Walkers a try - and I’m glad I did. It’s a few yards off the main pedestrian shopping street in Beverley. With the upstairs as well it has quite a lot of tables. You order at the counter - 3 choices of cooked breakfast - either 1, 2 or 3 of the main items - I went for 2 which was a good call. You can have either hash browns or black pudding - I paid extra to have both! Surprisingly fried egg isn’t an option - just scrambled or poached. Toast and tea/coffee are included in the price. Everything is cooked to order so had to wait a few minutes which was fine. Good sized portions when it arrived and everything was well cooked. Poached eggs were great and the quality of bacon and sausage was high - glad to see no cost cutting on cheap ingredients. Even the toast was better than normal! Overall an excellent breakfast and so glad I decided to give Walkers a try.

Quick efficient service from the moment we ordered at the counter to the time it took to serve our breakfast, it’s a good job I only ordered the small breakfast. The quality of the food was first class and the waitress was very friendly.

Choice of small medium and large breakfast. Small had one sausage, one bacon, one poached or scrambled egg, beans, mushrooms, tomato with choice of black pudding or hash brown, Medium had two of everything with large having three! Included was white or brown toast made with good quality bread and an individual pot of tea each. Husband had the medium and struggled to finish his plate. Everything was top quality, very very good!

Lovely good, nice breakfast. Hot good. Friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. 6 of us went on a busy Saturday morning but didn't have to wait too long.

This cafe has been a regular lunch spot of the parents' for some months now and today I finally got the chance to go with them and experience it for myself. The main menu has a good selection of sandwiches, breakfasts, jacket potatoes etc, but the Specials menu is where all the real gems are! I had a toasted bagel with brie, caramelised onion chutney and sausage which was delicious - a very unique combination but tasted great. It also comes with a generous side salad and I have been told that the yummy coleslaw is homemade. My dad chose the fish pie which was piping hot and filled with different fish and prawns, in a creamy sauce. He also chose to have garden peas with it and cheese on top of the pie. My mum had the chicken & bacon caesar salad which was enormous and came with homemade garlic croutons. These meals with drinks (2 cappuccinos and a diet coke) came to £28 I believe, which is excellent value. If we weren't so full we definitely would have taken home some of the lovely looking cakes from the front counter!

We had lunch without a dessert and then after a couple of hours of shopping, returned for some delicious cake and a pot of tea just before Walkers was closing. All the food was tasty, and there were some unusual flavours of cake. We had the millionaires shortbread flavoured cake, and a cake with the flavours of a Jaffa Cake! The homemade pies looked delicious and can be eaten in or bought to eat at home. The staff were busy and friendly, and as they finished off the jobs in the kitchen before they closed, we could hear them singing to the radio - it was such a happy sound! Although the downstairs of the café is small, there are plenty of tables upstairs.

This is a hidden gem down a small side street in Beverley centre. The cooked breakfast is great value, very high quality and there is an excellent choice of menu including many vegetarian options. The cafe offers straight forward, well cooked and non greasy food with no ‘trendy’ messing about. This place is about traditional food, taste and quality not just following a fashion. Service is attentive and friendly, everything is spotlessly clean. Also highly recommend are their Bakewell tarts.
