The Queen's head is a pub in Beverley i have used for over forty years. It used to be a rundown two roomed Darley's pub. It has been modernised and extended, and is now a very smart and comfortable pub. It serves several hand pulled cask conditioned real ales and like a lot of pubs now is very food orientated. The food is good, and it's still a nice pub.

The staff could not have been more friendly, the dinner was very tasty and at a good price. The reason for 4 stars is the amount of food that was wasted. Portion sizes were just too big for most of my family. If going, ask for a smaller dinner but well worth a look

My wife and I had lunch here today and enjoyed both our meals my wife had gammon steaks when I ordered for her at the bar and asked without pineapple barman asked but with egg and I said yes so she had two eggs, it was large two gammon steaks homemade cut chips two eggs mushrooms grilled tomatoes and salad. My dish small ( glad I did) steak pie and chose new potatoes which also came with carrots broccoli cauliflower swede puree and delicious gravy. I did help my wife out with some chips. We both had a bottle of Californian Zinfandel which were in 187cl bottles and served at just right temperature. The food was really nice as were the staff and pleasant music mostly 1960s which is probably the best music ever. Staff excellent food excellent service excellent and the amount of local knowledge that the staff were giving out to guests was delightful to hear and this must be everyday for them but still with cheerful banter. The stars are well deserved.

After my sister was recommended this place for afternoon tea. We booked as we were told this was required for the afternoon tea. It felt awkward upon arrival and been told to sit anywhere. We did find a table which had some empty pots on. These were cleared after a short wait. From previous experience s of When I have booked afternoon tea at other locations, when we have arrived we were shown to a laid table, just felt this was a little higgled. we sat for little over 10 minutes the table was cleared. The lovely rushed lady came over and brushed some rice away from the table top. Then called someone to come wash the table. We did get the absolute lovely selection of cakes and some sandwiches. There was enough food to fill another person. So would agree to say this was good value for money. However, I would suggest management look at how hard there staff do work. As we overheard staff discussing that there is no point in making any extra effort as you are no better thought of. So maybe they need to make the staff feel they are a team, after all they are the ones making them the money.

Friday is karaoke night, what a good night. Not packed but still the atmosphere was great. Everyone was a good sport at singing. We only went in for one drink and ended up staying till the end.

A lovely old fashioned pub near Beverly Wednesday market. Lovely food reasonable drinks on tap & good value. Pies all home made. Pastry got a bit soggy is only negative. Their fish and chips looked really good. Tonnes of veg n chips. Overall a great lunch. 22 quid for 3 steak pies n soft drinks.

The Queens Head Where everyone knows your name. This cosy, pretty pub is defiantly worth a visit, Les and his daughters make you feel so welcome. The pub has just been re decorated and looks lovely. In the summer we love relaxing outside in the seating area in Wednesday market watching the world go by. We often pop in for their karaoke and top class music evenings. The home cooked food is delicious and we can definitely recommend the Sunday lunch, great value and an added bonus they always use local sourced produce and they also do a home delivery service.
