Had a wonderful lunch with a friend. It was an incredibly busy day but we were told this before we ordered food. Food took longer than expected but the manager was so apologetic and offered an extra drink as an apology. We didn't accept as we had enough wine on our table. The food was amazing and we have already booked to go again
Today we celebrated our daughters 18th with 13 people. They rang to confirm booking, food came out hot and altogether, waiting staff and bar staff were friendly and efficient. Food was lovely, something for everyone. Thank you.
Unfortunately my battered prawns were a little overcooked however my sons burger and my aunts bangers and mash were spot on.
A new waitress on duty had her work cut out due to it the pub being busy, she did a wonderful job, keeping her cool and smiling throughout.
Bartenders were also really helpful and friendly. We always enjoy our visits to the Haig.
A welcoming local pub with a friendly inclusive atmosphere, great range of beer, nice food, large pub garden, fantastic bar staff!
Lovely pub
Pleasant and peaceful. Staff are friendly and quick. They are honest what they take on and don’t over stretch. Food was cheap and really tasty.

I struggle with mental health problems and going inside near people is really problematic. I had my Support Dog with me and had no problems with access. I am frequently stopped access so Earl Haig well done.
I struggled to get to bar despite it being empty at the time. The staff member, Dave, gave me lots of time, patience and consideration. He also didn't talk to me as if I had half a brain. Well done Dave.
Food arrived and I was offered escort to my seat if I needed it. I was offered alternative foods for my dog. Dave came to check I was OK and had found my seat. He lent me a pen when I requested it. Having done bar work that is a bigger deal than you realise. The pint was good. The food was well presented on a hot plate with all clean cutlery and napkins and sauces. Another well done.
Atmosphere was calm and I felt safe. Another thing you can't take for granted any more. I know it's beyond the pubs abilities to control but even the children were well behaved and unobtrusive.
I go out so rarely nowadays that an enjoyable meal with no hitches was wonderful. Thank you!
In the past, Sunday lunches were really not very good with very thin tasteless meat, gooey potatoes and poor vegetables. This visit everything seemed to be different: the meat had been greatly improved being really thick and tasty,the potatoes were crispy and the veg was better.
The staff have always been very friendly and attentive but this time one waitress was training a young waiter with the utmost patience and respect. You wld think this wld slow things down but not at all. We were warned as we entered that the wait time for food was 30 minutes so we were prepared, however our meal came up in about 15 minutes which was great.
The atmosphere in the pub is so welcoming and friendly you feel as if you are visiting a friend
I wld really recommend this pub, so much so we are hoping to book Christmas lunch for 9 there x
Very nice and spacious pub, suitable for a meal or just a drink. Always clean and tidy, food and drinks all reasonably priced and staff friendly and attentive. I’ve drank and eaten here several times and will definitely be going again.
I can't comment on the food as I didn't order food on my visit but it's a lovely pub. They've made a few small changes since I last went (which was a while ago) and it's made the place seem so much bigger. It's a really nice, open area with what looked to be a good selection of food on offer. The selection of beers was great including doombar and London pride and they offered everything you'd want in terms of spirits, wines and soft drinks. They've got a great outdoors seating area with both booths and tables. The garden is a good size and there's a carpark as well. The carpark isn't overly large but there's plenty of parking on the road outside. The staff were friendly and funny and lovely to interact with and offered a really nice experience.
Lovely pub. The staff are really friendly and always accommodating. Great atmosphere. Nice beer garden and lots of seating available both inside and outside. Always especially welcoming to our children!!
