A great pub with outstanding food very friendly staff great selection of beers wines and spirits very close to stansted airport so very convenient for a meal before or after your flight dog and family friendly i love the place I visit it every time I’m in the uk my favourite meal is the fresh fish but never had a bad meal there
After spending the morning being pampered in a spa I found this place about 10 minutes away so thought let's try there. So glad I went here, the staff were lovely, the food was amazing and the service was great. Would definitely recommend going here and if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be popping in!
We stopped in here for lunch on our way from the Grand Prix to Stansted Airport. The setting in the village is lovely. The bar/restaurant has plenty of space & tables with a marquee & large beer garden out back. The menu is comprehensive with something for everyone from lite bites to full meals with all the pub classics. Every dish was home cooked to order & absolutely delicious. Service was excellent & toilets lovely. Highly recommended!!
Lovely pub with lovely food. Great service. Popular pub, so either go early or book your table. Good sized portions. Had the ribs & salmon fillet. Very nice.
Very warm and nice pub, they have also a back veranda and garden.
Food is nice, but the service is taking too long to bring you the food.
A lovely pub with a warm welcome.
We had a really good meal. Our food was freshly prepared, the portions were generous and good value. There is a children’s menu available and the portion sizes are similarly generous.
There’s a reasonable selection of real ales and the pint I had was well kept.
There is a good sized children’s play area in the large garden.
Highly recommended for those travelling on the M11, it’s 5 minutes off the motorway, with much more tasty food and far better value than a service station.
Lovely and fast service. Grilled cod and Tuna steak was lovely. For sure visiting again.
Flying to Greece we decided to try a local pub near stanstead airport instead of the typical hotel restaurant and what a gem we found.
Set in a lovely village 2 miles from the hotel we had booked the Sunday lunch which was amazing.plenty of meat veg and roast potatoes accompanied with Yorkshire pudding.
My husband had whitebait for starters which to be Frank is a dying dish in a lot of pub menus, served with salad garnish and tartar sauce with a wedge of lemon was delicious.
The mixed roast was to die for and the steak and kidney pudding was full of meat which came with potatoes and veg
Can't fault the quality, service and attentiveness of the staff.
We booked quite late on a Sunday afternoon not knowing they stop serving food at 5pm as they are a traditional pub but they still were welcoming until we left full and happy.
Well done the three wickets.
Be careful, parking can be a nightmare, large car park but no spaces! Hopefully they're not allocating spaces to airport parking, or locals etc. You can be waiting for a long time to get a car parking space.
Sunday lunch was great, have lamb, and great veg etc! And not the rip off poor cut lamb shank 😊
An excellent pub with big, great value plates. We visited recently as a convenient stop off on the way to a holiday, and got a warm welcome and some delicious food.
Portions are big - I had the gammon steak with chips and two eggs, while my friend had the rock eel & chips. Both were great value, and we'll cooked. If I lived nearby I'd be here all the time
Good menu choices and reasonable pricing.
Shame the three of us had jacket potatoes that were uncooked and we had to wait to be cooked, whilst the rest had their meals .
They took two of the three jackets of the final bill, bit disappointed as the birthday girl had to wait and all three meals were unacceptable.
No real apology.
Great staff and fantastic food with good sized portions at decent prices. The place felt warm and welcoming with a good atmosphere.
