Been here a few times now, we have dined in and taken away.
First of all I’m really fussy about food I’m the type of person that would want to pay a little bit more to eat something I enjoy rather than going to the cheapest place so this review doesn’t come lightly.
First of all the staff are all friendly and helpful, the atmosphere/vibe in the place is one of a chilled out / relaxed nature which I really like. I can’t quite put my finger on it but his has quite a quirky / jazzy feel to it which I really wasn’t expecting when we first went.
Now for the food, the food is unreal and I’m not just saying that I’ve been here multiple times and can only say good things. We’ve had multiple things of the menu and each time it has exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend the Philly cheese steak baguette it was actually better than the ones I’ve had in the states.
The roast dinners are the best in the area in my opinion too, we actually had one today which is why I’m leaving this review!
The iced coffee is unreal - I don’t drink caffeine so go for the decaf option which you can’t tell the difference.
If you haven’t been here I would definitely recommend going even if it’s just for a coffee you won’t be disappointed!
Brilliant location, matched equally by the quality of the food and service.
Admittedly, I didn't personally eat here, I just had drinks, so I'm going by what my business colleague rated the food, which was 5*.
Just opposite Hamilton Square train station, Liberty Bell is split into 2 rooms, catering for between 40-50 people. The main services area as you enter the building caters for around 16. The main room to the left probably seats twice as many people.
The building is well decorated, extremely clean and the food was equally well presented.
Lovely café, quite busy but we found seats.
My two friends and I bought a slice of cake each and shared them between us.
Really nice cakes.
What a lovely little cafe/ coffee house. We had breakfast and also returned for lunch. It was very busy at breakfast, less so at lunch time, but we got a table easily. We ordered and paid at the counter and our food and drinks was brought to the table. Prices are a little steep. For four drinks and a bowl of cereal we paid £14 and for two teas and two sandwiches we paid £20. However, the food was lovely. There is a unisex toilet that was clean and accessible.
Really interesting and varied menu. Some great favourites for breakfast and brunch, cooked breakfast, burgers, pizza and loaded fries.. but some very tasty unusual burgers/ sandwiches like Bhaji smuggler - Onion bhaji, peanut coriander chutney, raita, lime-pickled onions and Bombay mix, on a ciabatta., With fries.
Great coffees and lethal cakes, huge ones from the local polish bakery. Good place to hide out and right next to Hamilton Square station if you're heading into or out of town to meet people.
Very friendly staff and a great welcome. Four visits throughout Monday, with good service and great coffee each time. Fascinating ceiling covering of coffee sacks! Lovely ham and cheese sandwich at lunchtime, carefully packaged for takeaway.
Located: Just across the street from Birkenhead's Hamilton Square underground station. Leave the cafe, turn right and enjoy a great view across the River Mersey to the Liverpool City skyline. July 2023.
I had a lovely vegan sausage butty. Fellow diners had eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict.
Had a lovely, quiet lunch today here. Highly recommend this place. I had the New York club which was well presented and left me feeling pleasantly full. My Brother had the Cuban which looked equally as nice and must of tasted as good because he ate the lot too!!!
Lovely little coffee shop, I sat in for about half an hour whilst doing my university studies and ordered a hot Caramel Latte. They had big pillows on the seats which made it cosy. Lovely space to read. Definitely will be returning!
Gorgeous place and lovely food. Staff very young though had a few issues with not bringing drinks over and & not knowing how to take a payment. When I say young I mean like a 15 year old lad. Food delish though
