We went to Shiraz for lunch today. Ordered Panir sabzi, chicken wings, saffron mushroom, chelo kebab with veg lamb chicken skewers and saffron ice cream. I loved the flavours in the dishes... Especially the saffron rice. We were served a complimentary dessert, rice pudding as well and it just blew my mind literally. Must visit for Persian food :)
Absolutely gorgeous food and atmosphere. The place is always packed so either book or get there early to avoid disappointment! Truly amazing!
Wonderfully delicious food. Small place but great service with complimentary feerni and qehwah. Will visit again.
AMAZING FOOD. The food is absolutely delicious - never dissapoints me, portions are very large and filling, staff are very friendly, very cosy atmosphere. Well done.
Amazing food. Best tasting persian food in birmingham
I first came to Shiraz "a taste of Persia" 10 years ago and I admit to being very ignorant to what exactly to expect from a Persian restaurant. I thought it was just going to be presented with a selection of Middle eastern food.
How wrong could I have been.
Now many years on and rather more educated in the area of Persian cuisine. Shiraz remains a firm favourite of mine and we visit here regularly.
The Highlights of the starters I believe are the hummus which is totally different to the Middle Eastern style hummus you get in arab restaurants, and the baba ganoush.
The mains it's has to be the kobeda kebab which is a long kebab that is subtlety marinated that's the general key to Persian food it's delicate combination of herbs and seasoning very different to any kind of other kebab I've eaten. The second favourite of mine has to be the Barg Kebab which is a fillet of lamb that has somehow been flattened to a very thin thickness and is somehow skewered on a long skewer and is the half cooked in a clay oven and then finished off on a grill.
Luckily for me they do a combined platter which has both of these served with saffron rice and a roasted tomato along with crunchy picked red cabbage which is the perfect accompaniment to the BBQ meats.
The tea is also something worth trying they serve it in these little pots kept warm with a candle underneath, but it's a nice blend of tea leaves that produce a very fresh tasting brew!
Fantastic food service and ambience it must be said the interior is a little kicth. It reminds me of a Spanish villa in the early nineties. A lot of varnished wood plastic flowers in places too!'!! But in a strange way it adds to the atmosphere!
Be prepared for a wait at busy times best to book ahead.
Lovely authentic food however slow service and terribly overpriced
Nice small cosy restaurant, feels nice and relaxed. Staff friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is relaxing. Background is nice and calming. Asked staff for home made sauces with the grills rather than ready made sauces. Staff advised Persian does not have sauces. Normally you smash the roast tomatoes and make your own sauce. So I did that made an interesting sauce out of hot chilli, pineapples and smashed tomatoes. We had the meat grills and vegetables grills. It was all flavourful. I’d say that the flavours and spices were blended by the chef’s amazingly. Basically you will not be disappointed with the food, atmosphere. Restaurant was clean, tables set nicely.
Feels like home!
Authentic Iranian restaurant, the food is freshly made and the portions are decent. Food is made to perfection! The staff are very polite and offer excellent service.
There’s a soft oriental music playing in the background, and they offer complimentary sweet.
I definitely recommend this place!
This is by far the best Persian restaurant in the UK. It is also better than many in Iran itself. You get what you pay for, definitely needs to be experienced if you're looking for an authentic taste of Persia. The owner clearly has a meticulous vetting process with his suppliers and only gets the best money can buy. Then you have the generous portions and the excellent cooking of the meats which is some of the best barbecued lamb I've ever tasted. I really can't fault this place.
We went in as a family of 6 last week and the service and food was amazing. Honey was an amazing hostess she was very hospitable and kind, she recommended some great dishes. The rice pudding was delicious (and I am someone who hates rice pudding). I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Highly recommended. Went here for iftar, group of 7. Great food, good service. Everyone really enjoyed. It was really quite busy, as the restaurant has limited space, but the staff managed to take good care of everyone.
Very nice place.
The food is great, we had lamb Koobedieh which is definitely delicious.
The owner of the place is very kind and generous. He gave us Fereni as a treat which I am very glad that I tried as will always have it when I come.
Of-course coming back again and again.
Highly recommended!
Good food - the joojeh and koobideh kebabs are definitely better than Colbeh a few stores down the road, never had a bad one here. Same for the tea which is excellent.
The place itself is a little dated and ropey but you can't go wrong if you want quality food and friendly service.
Family run Persian Restaurant with amazing authentic food. Very friendly service and family friendly environment. Quality food cooked to perfection, that will tantalize your taste buds. You'll definitely come back for more. But do book ahead, the word is out about this place so it has gotten busier each time I go there.
We visited Shiraz on a Saturday evening and it surely exceeded our expectations.
They served the most tender and flavourful chicken with the Best Saffron rice that we have had. The Persian tea and rice pudding was the best way to end our meal.We were served by Honey and she gave us the best service. Will definitely recommend this place and will be visiting soon❤️
Service was excellent and the same goes for the food. I would book in advance
