Vibrant well run Italian restaurant. Extensive menu most dishes tasty and nicely presented. Compact but well chosen wine list at very reasonable prices. Service good. Ideal location for dinner before a show. Final bill represents good value for money.

Excellent Dining Experience” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2013 NEW Although it is ideally placed for a pre-theatre meal if you are visiting the Hippodrome the food at Milano is worthy of time being taken over it because it is very good indeed. The menu offers a wide choice in terms of price including a fixed tariff pre-theatre mean which my partner very much enjoyed. Being a glutton I was unable to resist the Daily Special of Lobster Linguine and I can never resist anti-pasto - Milano's was of a generous quantity and high quality; both courses were delicious. The tables are beautifully laid out and the service is friendly and attentive. I have absolutely no criticism to make (I didn't like the desserts but I don't like Italian desserts and can hardly blame them for being authentic!). As a pre-opera meal (especially if the opera is Italian!) I cannot think of a more delightful experience - just leave yourself enough time. Excellent selection of seafood which is not always the case in Birmingham. I had the lobster linguine while my wife had the seafood linguine. Both were delicious and we shared a bottle of white wine which went down well.
I will say that I don’t eat much seafood and didn’t realise there was further meat in the lobster claw which I hadn’t been given the tool to crack until the waiter who collected the plate asked about it, although he then cracked with the tool even if it was slightly cold. Even so, the meal itself was great.
Absolutely fantastic experience, food was delicious, waiter was great had fantastic banter. Very clean, would definitely come back again! Thanks for having us!
We were served by Devanish, who's service was exemplary. He was friendly and professional and knew just how to be attentive whilst not imposing on us.
The food was good too, most of us had Pizzas which it is hard to judge a restaurant on unless they are particularly poor (which these were not!). One of our group had a pasta dish and certainly felt that it was excellent.
This was a spur of the moment choice for lunch, while visiting the nearby Back to Backs. It was a great choice for food and service and we will definitely be back.

We had an excellent service yesterday afternoon at Caffe Di Milano. We got served by a beautiful lady, which was quite pleasant and continuously smiling every time she helped us. Her name is Aparna, and when asked about her background, she kindly replied to us, explaining her roots.
We or I definitely will repeat the experience. We give a service mark of 4 stars due to Aparna's service.
However, we would appreciate the restaurant would be more confinement with specific customers due to their service policy. It is kind of uncomfortable to be reaching your wallet every time you order, and perhaps this could lead to customers stopping ordering and moving to other restaurants. We would appreciate the opportunity to consume drinks and food as much as we want to spend our time in the lovely establishment and pay the total bill simultaneously.
The restaurant looked lovely, and every staff seemed polite and smiling. Stunning restaurant layout.

The staff are lovely and the food is amazing and not to mention the amazing atmosphere and decor. Can’t believe it took me so long to find the place.

The tiramisu is fantastic, but to be honest I think that all the caces were great.
I gave them only 4 stars because the service was quite poor, we ordered coffee and the cup was dirty, we asked to change it and they replace it with another dirty cup that we sent it back as well. Some of the waiters were ok, some of them were a bit grumpy.
The place is beautifully designed, and is cozy, quite comfortable for a relaxing dinner.
We will return to try the food someday.
Beautiful venue, calm and peaceful but with enough of a vibe to make it enticing. Good service (would’ve said great if she cracked a smile!) and great coffee. I didn’t eat here but judging by the mood of nearby diners, it’s great food too! I don’t like service charges added to the bill, but it was less than I would’ve tipped so no complaints.
Brilliant place to go for semi fine dining! Price isn’t that high but its totally worth it! Service is great as well.
A really nice place with a fresh atmosphere. It didn’t feel crowded at all and the food was great. I especially want to thank our waiter Aleyna for being so amazing and helping us. She really is the sweetest. Would definitely visit again!
