This place is about simple things done very well - fresh handmade noodles - rather than trying to stun with the cuisine.
For me, the rolled (noodle) dough slices stir fried goes toe to toe with the noodles which the eatery is about and makes an excellent alternative to noodles. For me, the cold sliced braised beef shin is also the best in Chinatown.
Wow. Simple but great food done well with friendly service. Will defiantly be returning.
WOW WOW WOW. Everything about my food was delicious. Truly the best noodles I've ever had in my life, you can tell they are freshly made with quality and skill. Absolutely exceeded my already high expectations!!! The staff member who took our order was so helpful, informative, and kind. I want to go back and try everything else on the menu!
Their namesake Dezhou style 10hr braised chicken is so tender and flavorful. The spicy brisket soup is such a delicious spice level. Every bite of noodle made me happier and happier!
Don't miss out on this fantastic spot. You can really tell they put love and care into the food.
Bonus: watch a skilled craftsman make the hand pulled noodles you will soon enjoy!
**Cash only**
Take extra in case, because the menu will tempt you into ordering more (and you'll be glad you did).
The food is generous and delicious, the noodles soup is amazing, the taste of everything is elaborated. The service is kind and you can take away if you cant finish it. A place that I recommend a lot. Noodles are handmade by the cook
Every time my friend and I have visited this place the food has been 10/10. Good selection on the menu and lots of beverages including herbal tea to choose from. We always have the spring rolls and then we have the Biang Biang noodles and I had the king prawn hand made noodles. Noodle dishes are around 10.50 but worth it. Quick and easy service, definitely recommend.

Typical small Asian restaurant with authentic food that is done well. Great soups, properly filling and wholesome. Must have the beef brisket soup. It’s very good. Staff is welcoming, gracious and helpful. Small intimate seating, but can still hear a conversation even when busy.
If you’re going to name your restaurant after a particular dish, make sure to do it well. Dezhou Style Braised Chicken is one of those brilliant places that doesn’t focus on the decor- it’s functional, but pretty bare-bones- and simply lets the food speak for itself. I had the titular chicken with noodles, along with some smacked pickled cucumbers on the side, and it was delicious- moist, fragrant chicken complimented by the refreshing tangy crunch of the cucumber. Service is prompt and welcoming. When I went, it was cash only, however there is a cashpoint around the corner.
Definitely worth a visit. Tried the braised chicken (amazing) and Beef Stir Fried Hand Made Noodle. I chose the spicy noodles and loved them. Super friendly and quick service, just don’t forget your cash! Don’t miss this spot when you’re in the area.
Very tasty noodles. I had the ones with braised chicken. The meat was very tender and falling off the bone. The noodles are made fresh for each order. I was impressed with the service too. I had a quick look inside the restaurant and it looked full so I started to walk away. The lady ran after me and said there are spaces inside and she will clean a table for me. Definitely recommend as they have a good choice of dry or soup style noodle dishes. Cash only payments (on 21.1.23).
Pros:
Pretty amazing noodles for Birmingham.
Decently priced as far as eating out is concerned.
Cons:
Major downside is it’s cash only.
Soy milk is from the carton so take what you will with that information. Was hoping it was fresh.
Ordered the house style noodles. Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff. Enjoyed every bite!
Fantastic little restaurant. The owner/ waiter was extremely friendly and kind to us. The noodles were handmade in front of you. The noodles had an excellent texture and taste. I would thoroughly recommend. This restaurant is cash only, however there is a cash point just down the road. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Chinatown Birmingham!
