Very lively and fun British pub near the Bullring. Ideal for unwinding after a shopping trip. Large space and good vegetarian nibble options.
The Sunday Roasts were outstanding. Plenty of everything. We added a portion of cauliflower cheese each, but one portion between two would have been plenty. The beer was great. The staff were friendly and attentive. No complaints at all.
Excellent place in Birmingham.
The food is good quality and tasty the skin on fries are particularly good.
Lots of lagers as well as a couple of Ales on draught.
Good choice of gins and other spirits are available too.
Good seating as well as very clean.
The staff are brilliant and serve you quickly and are very friendly too. LUKE is a real top chap for sure. Service is second to none in Brum.
Certainly a place worth visiting in Birmingham for yourself.
Will certainly return having now experienced it for the first time.
There is a mezzanine which was not open at the time i was there. It was reserved.
Plays music at a good volume so you can have a conversation too.
Popped in for lunch and enjoyed a chicken burger and chips, the food was hot, tasty and the service was great. Lovely pint of thatchers gold too! They're also part of Independent Birmingham so I got 25% of the bill to boot! Only negative I could possibly find that it was a bit quiet but not surprising early in the week.
Great Sunday roast has the pork which was super tasty and all the staff were lovely !
Great food & excellent service, as always. I used to visit The Sun On The Hill mainly for drinks and their lovely breakfast, but on Sunday I tried their Sunday roast. It came in a very generous portion, therefore very good value for money, and more importantly it was delicious!
This place gets 4 stars on the strength of the atmosphere - which is very laid back - and also the temperature - which is just right, and that's what you want on a Tuesday in January. Beer wise they don't have the best choice but for a lazy after work beer it makes a good fist of it. Will of course be back because it's close to new street train station, but that hasn't made them complacent, which is a good thing. Very friendly staff.
Had chicken and bacon ceasar salad it was absolutely delicious lovely place not too busy when we were there bout 14.00 hrs would definitely go again. Staff friendly can't say too many good things
A great place to soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Drinks are more expensive than Briar rose next door, however, the atmosphere here makes up for it.
Nick is enthusiastic member of staff who will discuss real ales and his home town/ county Bedfordshire
Met up with friends were supposed to go shopping but time got away with us had lovely food and drinks, very relaxed afternoon
The food , staff it's nice tho u don't have options for extra cheese for nachos and this made us barley eat them .
