Great staff and very helpful. Attending at signing by Joe Hill was a wonderful experience as the staff seemed to be enjoying it too. They couldn’t do enough for you.

Awesome dynamic bookstore, proposing lots of different activities, and the café is so great, it's such a pleasure to have coffee among the books !
Until I read the other reviews I don't think I appreciated this store as much as I should. It is easy to access, the two staff who served me were really helpful and very pleasant. I could buy the book cheaper online but I enjoyed having a browse through it first and it was enjoyable walking through looking at other sections.
This is the largest branch of Waterstones that I have visited. It is very close to New Street station. There is a lift between floors. As well as a large selection of books, there is a big range of puzzles, games and gifts. There is also a café. Really enjoyed a browse around here.
Bethany was very helpful and kind, she went above and beyond to find a book I was searching for everywhere! I will visit the store again as I had a wonderful experience. Please send my endless gratitude to Bethany☺️
My first time here and I absolutely loved it! the 2 ladies that served me today were wonderful, with one (I didn’t get her name) who went above and beyond for me to help me find a book. 10/10 lovely store experience which was very much appreciated :)
Brilliant book shop in Birmingham. Lots of subjects including manga, graphic novels and lots more. Over 4 floors including a very nice coffee shop. Games, puzzles and collectables at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and ultra helpful.
Pleasant cafe with very reasonably priced drinks and light sandwiches for lunch. Cakes are very nice!
Booksellers very friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't have a answer, they go and find it out for you.
Brilliant customer service from Adam. We were one book short of the set for my daughter's birthday present. Adam certainly knew his stuff and was determined to find the missing title. Which he did! Conjured it up like a magician from some obscure corner of stock. We were suitably impressed and want everyone to know.
A monster of a Waterstones store, with a dozen or so titles I've never seen out in the wild before (only online).
Divided across a number of floors, each section has its own 3D sign attached to the bookcases, rather than the usual functional but bland paper banners. As well as the cafe level, each floor has a space for people to sit and hang out, and it's genuinely heart-warming to see and hear people deep in discussion about books.
Lovely, quirky staff who are just as crazy about literature as you'd expect them to be. This is probably the best bookshop in the city and possibly in the entire surrounding area.

Updating for 2023:
This is and has been my favourite and preferred bookstore for going on ten years. The range is great, especially after the recent renovation upstairs, staff are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous, and I've very rarely been unable to order something they didn't have in store. Big fan of the points scheme, too.
Amazing options for all ages. Books, games, manga and even a cafe!
Super nice Waterstones which has a lift as well as there are quite a few levels.
The cafe was nice with different choices and you can play a board game while you are in the cafe to.
I got a free drink as I bought the game of the month which was unexpected, I had the Chai Latte and it was beautiful!! (Much better than the drink I had at Starbucks a few hours before!) Highly recommend!
