Ordered food over the phone and came in to collect. Lady running the till tries to overcharge me for the food, which did not work. I won't be coming back here again and will take my business elsewhere to those that operate more honestly. Food is alright but one to avoid if you don't want to get ripped off! Worse thing is they are doing this intentionally and not even a genuine mistake. Updated 2024. The owners use a calculator now to work out the price, which is good to see as they have taken note of my initial review.

Chip 'N' Whale is a hidden gem in Handsworth , West Midlands. The fish and chips are absolutely delicious, with a thin and crispy batter that is cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making the overall experience even better. The shop is clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Chip 'N' Whale for some of the best fish and chips around!
