I love this place,Michelle and her fella make you feel so welcome,I had a few cocktails today,was yummy,had a laugh with Michelle,she's a beautiful lady,I recommend this pub,friendly,warm welcome awaits anyone that goes here x

Used to use this pub years ago but it went massively downhill.. since Andy and Paula have been here I can’t praise it enough, the atmosphere has totally changed, the bar staff are happy, the customers are happy and there has been some brilliant events on! Can’t wait for reggae night this week … here’s to loving the bear and staff again!
What a great night at the Bear and staff last night . The singer Motown singer AJ was brilliant.
The new managers Andy and Paula and the rest of the staff were really on the ball on a very busy Friday night .
Great service , great atmosphere and what’s more you can even get a lovely crusty cob to soak up some of the beer that you consume 🤣🤣.

The atmosphere is back to its friendly origins, the 80s night on Friday was amazing and everyone was made welcome. Here’s to making Selly Oak great again, well done, guys!
Great bar, good service and clean. Didn't eat that why no stars... This is a drinking pub usual sport channels bar snacks tho.... Good for a drinking session 😉
We had a fabulous night last friday at the Bear and Staff there was a soul motown singer on who was brilliant the atmosphere was lovely lots of dancing and fun Cant wait to come back soon. Well done Paula and Andy.
Great Tuesday open mic night. Despite the strange layout (a tall long table dominating the room) the pub itself was very friendly, with lovely staff and great beer. I think a few smaller tables would suit the room a lot better though.
The bear and staff has taken a massive turn since Andy and Paula took over the customers are alot happier and so are the staff there is now live music on a Friday and Saturday night most weekends
Excellent atmosphere and very friendly helpful staff what a fantastic improvement just needs food to be served and would be a the place to be
The woman behind the bar was lovely and very friendly our first time there as only here for the weekend from ireland
the food was amazing and well priced, the staff were kind attentive and super quick I will definitely be coming back
