Mellow Mushroom Hoover

My family decided we would try Mellow Mushroom so we went to the Inverness location. We we’re told it was a 30 to 40 minute wait and we chose to wait. We were seated in about 20 minutes so that was a plus. Our waitress was friendly and immediately took our drink and appetizer order. We did have to flag her down to get extra sauce and refills. Waited a good hour after eating our appetizer before we got our pizza. I asked what was taking so long and was told there was some confusion in the kitchen. We noticed several people in their groups that came in after us seated got their pizza and was leaving before we got our pizza. The pizza is probably a 6 out of 10 and I will not be going back. I didn’t complain or blame the waitress but someone dropped the ball on our order but I do feel that a discount or the appetizer should have been taken off of our bill. We did get a thank you for being patient but that was it. I do blame the waitress for not letting us know our order was not put in and for not checking on us regularly but I still tipped. I’m just glad for those that do go to work even if sometimes it’s a bad experience but again I am one and done with Mellow Mushroom.

I have to say we had a great experience at this Mellow Mushroom. We had about 16 people in our party after a big tournament, 9 of them being children. They set upsurge tables away from everyone so we weren’t too loud and distracting, and they were quick with the food. The pizzas were easily scarfed by the kids and they have a great selection of tap beer. Our waitress was amazing, and she was very patient with us. Definitely recommend.

We called ahead to make sure they could seat our party of 6 (one in a wheelchair), then arrived to a less than half full restaurant. We sat and waited for about 15m, and nobody came to take our order despite 2 trips to ask about service. After waiting a few minutes longer, we inquired again about having someone take our order. At that point, the young lady at the counter literally told us they were just too busy and we should leave. So we did, and will never return. Horrible to treat customers this way, likely to spend at least $200. This Mellow Mushroom is permanently off our list. UPDATE: Mellow Mushroom did us a great favor refusing to serve us! We decided to try Slice, just 7 minutes away. Despite being much busier, we were seated & served very quickly. The service at Slice was friendly & efficient. I can't believe anyone would go to Mellow Mushroom when Slice is so close and so superior. To this sad Mellow Mushroom, I can only say Thank You!

Typically, this is a great location with great food. Yet, on this trip to this location something was off. The waitress seemed disinterested and others were helping her out with our table, even though it was just a table for two. Great food and usually a great experience. Will return and update review later. Otherwise, I would have given fewer stars.

AVOID THIS MUSTY PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Coming from somebody who recently worked at the Inverness Mellow Mushroom. Management is absolutely terrible. I did not feel respected whatsoever. Did I forget to mention that there’s always a wait due to not having a hostess at the host stand and by the time you get seated pizza is still gonna take a hour. I love the vibe Mellow Mushroom has. But this location to be exact is downright trash. Go to slice or Davenports for better high quality pizza and nicer folks!
