I was craving some good fresh Fish & Chips, and remembered Shak’s was a place I wanted to try. I am extremely pleased I did, because the fish and chips I received was the best in a long time. Order was made fresh to order as I didn’t mind waiting. Lovely chips with delicious crispy batter on the succulent cod fish and curry sauce just finished it off nicely. Customer service was great, the young lad Ibraheem was friendly and welcoming. I recommend to all who want fresh and tasty food. I will definitely be visiting again.
My new favourite chip shop! I've ordered at least 6 times on Uber Eats. The food always comes out amazing, the red donner meat is delicious! Also had the cod and chips which were was nice and fresh. I'm blown away by the price and quality!
Very nice food loved it family enjoyed it very clean shop also very friendly chap who works their looks after me with good portions the salads are banging and the masala fish wrap defo try that if not your missing out. Mention the bande and he will make it extra tasty for you 100%. Service is excellent very good on prices on food and portions.
This place is the Best! We are visiting from Houston,Texas and we were treated like old friends! The staff was super friendly ( even though it was near closing) and the food was spot on. My fish and chips were perfect! and the burger was yummy and fresh! This place is a must visit. Skip the tourist traps on Broad St., and near the arena. Walk few minutes past the canals and you'll find this neighbourhood chip shop, your new favourite place eat!❤️❤️
I totally recommend the doner kebab. Tasty, spicy and thinly cut , and the pitta bread is loaded with meat. Second best donor I've had in my life and that's no exaggeration. Staff are friendly plus there's ample parking spaces on the parade.
So glad to find a little gem of a Chip Shop in Birmingham. Great fish & chips with the fish cooked on order.
The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection with quality beef patty (best I’ve had in a while).
The owner was friendly & very welcoming.
The portion size was very generous.

Amazing food definitely coming back next time
Been going 1-2x a week for the past 2 months. Every time I get a different meal. So much variety in the cuisine and every dish is very very tasty, would highly recommend the chicken donner and the gourmet burger absolute bangers. Calling the customer service “incredible” feels like an understatement. The twins treated me like family from the very first time I stepped into the shop. Hats off to the twins and the whole staff.
First time eating from ordering from here as it popped up on Uber eats.
And I just like to say thank you very much after tasting the mix meat sizzler in naan you have totally ruined my ability to order kebab from anywhere else.
Chips were gorgeous too but omg the kebab was a real infusion of taste, perfectly cooked and if it wasn't full to the brim I'd have contemplated ordering another one. I would definitely recommend to anyone, my friends already have watering mouths after I sent them a picture of the sizzler so expect a few more people ordering soon 😁
Amazing chippy. Very friendly staff two lads manage the place, food is always delicious and is worth the money. Would recommend the peri peri chicken or their dinner chicken with chips.
Found via Google search. Went by the ratings and I wasn't let down. Very friendly staff who took time while working on orders to chat with me. Food was prepared promptly. Everything tasted lovely, even a simple snack like my scallops were perfect, a nice thick slice of potato and the batter was crispy and tasty. The chips were very moreish and my masala fish seasoned very well. I'm not a fan of pollock and that would be the only downside for me. However, I wouldn't hesitate in going there again for a meal. 😋😋😋

Well the one thing I thought birmingham lacked when I moved from cov was a decent chippy. I found it and shaks is it. Simple. Staff are fantastic family run buisiness. 24 year old chap behind the counter works his heart out to make the experience for the customer. A lot of you useless waster students with no work ethic could learn from this man. I pray he profits from his hard work in years to come.

I opted for the cheese burger meal . The patty was flame grilled or barbecued. It had a charcoal flavor and salad on it was fresh . The chips were fresh. No frozen chips here . EXCELLENT.
As a treat I decided that I wanted something different preferably to my everyday cooking and therefore had popped into Shaks Fish Bar & Peri Peri and since it was a Friday night why not?
I had ordered a large portion of chips and donner meat with salad on the side and helpings of both chilli sauce and mayonnaise (I, however did want a mix donner meat but just asked for the donner meat so next time I will).
The food is amazing and wished I had ordered more as they are the best tasting chips and donner meat in town. The guy that served me was friendly and I didn't have to wait so long to get my food. The food on the menu are reasonably priced too and have a range of different options available.
I will definitely be returning as a customer and hopefully get a larger portion and to remember to ask for a mixed donner meat and lastly i would like to thank everyone working at Shaks Fish Bar & Peri Peri
We used Shaks to cater for our office social in Birmingham City Centre. We were really impressed with the quality of the food that we had delivered to the door.
