Super bookstore, well organised and definitely a touch above many others. The shop also has a large selection of classical cd’s. Cafe is great, good selection of drinks and the cakes looked yummy. Well worth a visit!!

Finally managed to visit today, after months of drooling over pictures on Facebook and wasn't disappointed. Frazer and Beth were very welcoming. The shop itself is a lovely space, which is decorated to a very high standard. There's a great selection of books (which are very reasonably priced) and many tempting treats on offer - my new favourite shop.

Beautiful book store with a wonderful selection of novels. Really loved this place a lot. The staff was also so cheerful and the atmosphere of this quaint bookshop surpassed almost all other bookshops I've been to.

Gorgeous wee book nook. I come to Birnam for the walks, the Arts Centre and the Birnam Reader. IIRC it is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the moment though til 7pm on (at least) Sunday; ample time for a walk and then cake just when most places are closing. The music is good and unobtrusive, the cakes delicious, the owner is helpful, the owner helpful - a real find. There is a children's section and another table in a back room that I had missed on a previous visit.

My ideal place - books, coffee and cake all under one roof. The owners are very friendly, the coffee is excellent and the cakes are always delicious. It's a wonderful place to spend time and I now plan my trips to the area to make sure I can fit in a visit.

A delightful cosy cafe-bookshop. I visited with a friend on a Sunday evening before catching a train - we were delighted to find out that the café was open until 7pm! The perfect place to relax while browsing the books. We took advantage of the current drink, cake and £2 book for £5 deal - what a bargain. The drinks and homemade cakes were absolutely delicious and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Interesting connection of secondhand, your condition books and a small number of new ones, combined with barista coffee and good quality cakes, as well as a friendly host-bookseller.

I had never noticed this little bookshop before though a frequent visitor to Birnam and the Institute. A wonderful and unusual selection of Quality s/h books. Coffee and yummy looking cakes too. I'll definitely return.
