Went midweek between Christmas and New Year. Large area for parking at the year but spaces are not marked out and didn’t see any designated disabled spots. If you have mobility problems you might struggle. There are a number of steps down to the rear entrance. The hand rail doesn’t come the full length. Steps out front as well to the entrance. I didn’t see any ramp for disabled access. Menu wasn’t overly extensive but a good range of options available. However, there wasn’t any specials menu either which I had expected to see. I opted for the fish and chips with garden peas. My friend went for the chicken and leek pie after her starter of creamy garlic mushrooms. The portions were great. One of the biggest fish I have had in a pub or restaurant. And I really enjoyed it. The chips could have also been excellent but a few were very thick and therefore, a little undercooked. Otherwise very tasty. I opted for dessert. Chocolate orange cheesecake. Again very tasty but, for the price, I think the portion should have been bigger. It’s no good me saying I would visit again as unfortunately the news suggests that this establishment will be closing in 2023. Based on my experience I doubt that this has anything to do with the quality of the food.

Nice welcome and great start to service. Lovely starters, main course very tasty, cheese board slightly disappointing, presentation was poor for the cheese booad, no variety in biscuits and had to ask for butter and side plates as we shared the cheese board to end. Otherwise quality tasty food and the blackpud scotch egg starter was delicious. The Malbec was very nice.

It's a great indication when the staff are happy to be serving you. Smiling and relaxed atmosphere. A clean and contemporary decor, varied menus including Vegan. We opted for a light starter of home cooked nachos & pulled pork with side order of skin on fries.. Tasty and moreish x

We went to the Cross Gaits on Friday and had such an amazing lunch. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The Garlic Mushrooms are a must have, best we have ever had. We were extremely impressed with the quality and presentation of all the food and drink that we ordered. The service was also spot on, the guys were very welcoming and friendly. We will look forward to coming more often.

Family birthday outing. 5 of us over three generations. They were very busy, and it isn't the easiest pub to boss, so food service was slow. It is however worth the wait. The food is high quality and very good. Bill was £35 a head for two courses each, with three rounds of drinks.

Cosy country pub with a good selection of tasty food at a decent price (and incredibly good mid-week offers). We've eaten here a few times and its always been nice food, good portion sizes and a very pleasant experience - yesterday we had some home-made cheese & onion pie with chips and bbq pulled pork sandwich with home-made nachos & side salad. Lovely grub!

We went for dinner and had a 3 meat roast, I must say it was amazing! It says something when we had to say no to a desert as we were stuffed!

Tried the Cross Gaits today for the first for a birthday lunch. Sorry, didn’t get your name but the female on duty was absolutely lovely and welcoming. Food was great and couldn’t fault anything. We had the bacon chop and pan seared salmon. Gorgeous, with the chocolate orange cheese cake and pumpkin pie deserts. I never order desert so for me to, a) order one, b) eat the lot speaks for itself. A perfect 10 out of 10 from us.

Had an amazing lunch here yesterday. The menu is a mix of more traditional dishes and some more exotic options. We both had the chicken gyro which was absolutely delicious. We were both stuffed but had to have a dessert so we had the Eaton mess and again it was delicious. Better than that though the service was absolutely first class particularly from Emma. We were looked after from the minute we walked in. Absolutely fantastic and we will DEFINITELY be returning soon
