Spent a highly enjoyable day at Lytham St Annes beach, traditional family beach and fantastic day out, ended our day at the Shovels. The perfect end to the perfect day. Sat outside in the beer garden, fantastic cheerful staff, excellent service and delicious food, dog friendly too. Lovely place with great staff, highly recommended.

Visited for the first time in years early evening on a Tuesday in October for tea. Surprised how busy it was - we didn't book, but just about managed to get a table, many were reserved but quite a few remained unoccupied for all the time we were there which seemed odd. So probably best to book ahead even on a day when you'd expect it to be quiet. The place is lovely. Excellent staff and good food with very good prices.
