We've been to this place many times and the service is always first class. I've seen a couple of negative reviews and I really can't understand why. A mix up with an order and the dining room having no windows doesn't constitute a negative review in my book.
Good, classic home style cookery at great prices, and the cakes are fantastic.
On our latest stay their opening hours didn't fit in with what we had planned, I called to check the opening hours and sadly I was right, we'd have to end our holiday without our customary Drakes Roast Dinner, not an issue at all I was told, the meals for all of our family were boxed up and waiting for us to collect and rewarm when we got back.
Cannot fault this place, good, local honest people and proper home style cooked food.
Went here for a Gentlemans breakfast on 16th March 19. It was cooked very well and was quite substantial. It's now 17th March and my wife and I are returning for lunch, and if lunch is as good as yesterdays breakfast it will be worth the trip. The pictures are of the lighting, the conduit is made of copper water pipe including taps. A lot of people don't look up in places. So make sure you do here then have a look at them, they are interesting.

Shame it has shut, as Partingtons are redeveloping the bar defunct indoor bowling and restaurant.
It was always full 7 days a week, will be much missed.
Been here quite a few times now, including yesterday for a roast - the Sunday carvery they do is always a winner and great value for money!
They also make fresh homemade pizzas which me and the family tried a few weeks back and they were really tasty! Keep up the good work ladies! x
Popped in while staying at Newton Hall Caravan Park, lovely friendly, helpful staff.
Great English breakfast with a proper mug of tea and reasonable prices.
Excellent friendly staff and Quality food
Better than expected, thought being in a caravan park it may be pricey but was in fact good value for money. Order and pay at counter. They take cards for purchases over £5. Cash if less than that. Service was quick as well and very friendly, meals brought to table (grab your own cutlery). Staff even came over to check everything was ok. Would recommend. We were an unannounced group of 10 and they weren't fazed at all. Only thing missing for us were cycle racks but it was quiet outside and we managed with a bit if imagination...
Great food and a good price
Food is lovely can't believe how quick they make a jacket potato cheese and beans these women are so fast in the kitchen I wish women was as fast at getting there money out there pocket and spending a little instead of us men. Cash only today so we got are food for free cheers Kim
