We have enjoyed our Easter weekend break at ocean reach.. absolute stunning holiday property in the perfect setting on Bolberry Down. Thank you to Hazel Hassell for going the extra mile & making our stay a good one .
The best mussels I've had in a very long time! We caught the incredible weather and was just fantastic! Dog was very welcome and was the perfect lunch stop when doing part of the coastal path. Would highly recommend
The food was great, we had a selection of mains to share, family style, we were a party of six, and they were really accommodating. Mussels were fresh with a great natural flavour, a lovely fish and chips, beetroot salad was well balanced and the cucumber were melon-balled (which I’m stealing). The daily special was the haddock and it was the star of the show! The staff and service were excellent. Recommend getting a reservation as our cousin wanted to go last year but couldn’t get one, so we were lucky this year!
What a wonderful meal. We came yesterday after a day of torrential rain and wind, and were very glad we did.
It was probably the best meal out we have ever had. I had Fish and Chips which were GF, and my husband had the 8 oz beefburger. We would definitely recommend. We are staying at Bolberry Farm Campsite (also fantastic) so just a short walk uphill to the restaurant.
We arrived unfortunately arrived late for a table of ten, the team could have turned us away however they made space with no fuss or hassle to other customers. Service throughout was great and the food was great. Would highly recommend.
A fantastic find. The location is stunning, the food divine and the guy front of house provides a brilliant service. It was great that dogs are welcomed as well. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Dropped in at the end of our walk and decided to come back for our evening meal. Some of the reviews talk about surly staff ( absolutely not) and a lack of prompt service( again no).
Husband had fish of the day (pan fried brill) which was delicious (so he says) I had a baby whale...again delicious!
Couldn't fault the ambience (ace music) the staff ( so friendly and attentive) and the food.
It was all lovely and I'm sure if we were local we would be back!

Staff were charming, very efficient and welcoming despite having not booked. We had a sumptuous lunch everything was really fresh and well presented. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, highly recommended.
A full 5 star establishment. The man who greeted us, took our order and settled our bill with us was absolutely made for this industry. He was friendly, but not overbearing, did a check back at a time when we didn't have food in our mouths (something that seems to be rare!), and was happy to pop back with some water, and to package up a piece of the carrot cake for us to take home. The man who served us our drinks and food was also very pleasant. The food was remarkable. I had a pepper, courgette and aubergine sandwich, and my partner had the fish and chips which he loved- the batter was crispy and the fish was huge, he even liked the mushy peas which were obviously very fresh. The hot chocolate was also delicious.
Amazing service, food and deserts, the location is stunning, definitely will come again.
