We stumbled across this place on the way to a friends house. The staff were very friendly, there was a wide selection of drinks. If you're a gin drinker you'll not be disappointed. We decided to have some food too and it was delicious. If you are passing through the village you must stop off and give it a try.
This has been a brilliant find.....beautiful accommodation between the Dales, the Moors and the Lake District, with a sensational menu and food specials, all delivered in a wonderful local pub environment.
We stopped at the pub as we were at a christening after party. The pub is modernized and smart but still keeps it’s old charm. The food we had was well cooked and we had plenty of it.
The owners have done a great job of modernizing and the rooms are stylish ,spotless and very comfortable with a personal touch.A home away from home!.
The staff are very friendly and professional and we didn’t have to wait long before we had a drink in our hands.
We spent a good while out in the beer garden and I did feel that more could be made of it as it’s in a lovely quiet location and has a lot of potential to be landscaped and brought up to the standard of the exceptional interior of the pub(constructive criticism).
Great stay and I would recommend.
Food delicious, we had the Indian Burrito and the Salmon .. yummy, friendly service, we ate in the bar area as we had our dog which was fine but it was quite cold especially when the band left the doors open to bring in their gear! Lovely place 😊
Never been, even tho we live locally.
Did not dissapoint.
Beautiful food. Sunday roast to die for. Massive yorkie pud!
Very stylish, comfy country decor.
Very friendly staff.
Consider us regulars from now on!
We stayed nearby and had a lovely dinner here one Saturday evening, food was excellent, service was great, the staff were brilliant accommodating our requests, lovely home cooked, good quality meals and stylish yet traditional decor inside
Terrific place. Food superb (try the Roast!), nice location just off the cross pennine journey home to Scotland. Can't fault the place at all!
Another little hidden gem that ticks all the boxes. Probably one of the nicest, friendliest places I've stayed in.
The first thing you notice before you even walk into the room is the lovely smell in the hallway. And once you open the door you will be very impressed. The decor, the modern furniture and the lovely new clean modern bathroom. Let's not forget the top quality comfy bed.
The only thing missing to me was no coffee machine. I don't mean to sound negative but if it had one I'd personally rate it the nicest place I've stayed in.
I didn't get a chance to sample the breakfast as I had to hit the road early but the owner did make me a lovely bacon and egg sandwich for the road and the evening meal was excellent.
I would highly recommend this place and look forward to my next visit.
Such a delicious Sunday roast we had here today! So glad to be able to walk to this lovely pub!
Brilliant find on our way from Yorkshire to Scotland. Lovely warm and cosy pub, great drinks choice and delicious food. The leek and asparagus crumble especially was unreal!
Lovely bar and restaurant area, only problem was that they did not serve meals as they had no chef. !!!!!
Lovely place, friendly staff and very good Sunday roast lunch!
