Went with friends Saturday night. Watched football first followed by an entertainer from Tenerife. Great fun and good company. Recommend the Alex for local value and entertainment

Locally known as the Alex, this is a great family pub run by a family. It's been a while since I last visited the Alex and it used to more resemble a working man's club. Not anymore, it has a fantastic outdoor area that has been decked and features lots of bench style tables and chairs. The interior has been tastefully revamped and is spotlessly clean and modern. There is a decent size bar area and a very good size function room which caters for all occasions (in normal times). A great range of drinks at very reasonable prices and a very good pint. Add to this numerous TV's all with satellite channels and all in all the Alex is the complete perfect pub. The only downside for me is that they never got rid of the pool table!!🍻🍻🍻

Driven by the pure drive of her dad* IRISH JOHN*, 'A bootle legend' who encouraged legends like ''' CLANNAD ,JIMMY CRICKET,,MICKEY FINN,RICKY THOMMO, AND MUCH MORE,"to appear here in bootle,( REALLY, IN BOOTLE ??? ,,YES REALLY) !!! his daughter nicola, continues to to take the reigns to make the locals a great day out to be had and also looks after local musicians too,well worth a visit, 5 star,all day long....👍👍👍👍👍
