Stopped for lunch on a journey south. Very welcoming and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Unique touches like woollen throws on the backs of chairs which in the covered outside seating area might be appreciated on a cool evening. I had chuck steak. It was outstanding. Having had a large breakfast my wife opted for the oriental chicken starter. That was seriously good. There are several fascinating photos of historic Boroughbridge including one of a previous owner windsurfing past in a major flood. Lastly the Timothy Taylor was very well kept. A good cellar. All in all one of the most enjoyable lunch stops for a while.
Booked in for a meal 25/03/2024. Smaller portions menu was appreciated for the children and the main menu was fantastic! We had the chicken panko burger, steak and ale pie and fish and chips. Everything freshly cooked to perfection, hot, quality food that was incredibly tasty. The service staff were brilliant, especially Joseph who was very welcoming, attentive and humorous. Really enjoyed our meal out and it made my birthday extra special. Thank you Joseph and team, we will be returning very soon!
Despite the unfortunate location beside a roundabout, this was a real find. The service was great - friendly and efficient without being overbearing. The beer was well kept and the food was outstanding. I had the steak pie followed by the posset and both were great. The pie was obviously home made and done with pride and care while the posset was fresh and refreshing - perfect for a sunny afternoon.
