I'm almost hesitant to write a review of Vinoteca di Monica because I feel like it's one of the lesser known gems of the North End. I've been coming here for years and have always had positive experiences. Most importantly, the food is delicious. Their minestrone is fabulous, the pear salad keeps me coming back, and their carbonara is one of the best I've ever had. The Fra Diavlo is super fresh, and the truffle gnocchi, pictured above, is fabulous. The service is always top notch. I went once over the summer when they were super busy and backed up, and they communicated that the dinner service would be slower. While it did take a bit to get our food that time, they were very attentive, let us have a nice long meal, and gave us free dessert. My other experiences have been very positive too. The restaurant is just off the main strip, which is nice. The tables are a little close inside, but that's standard for the North End. Overall, it's one of my favorites in Boston's North End!

We stumbled across this place because the bar was open at 11 and we were awaiting our breakfast table at a different establishment. Felipe at the bar was outstanding! Made us some great bloody Mary's and told us great things about dinner. It was because of Him that we returned for dinner! And dinner didn't disappoint! Food was fantastic! 2 types of pasta and a mid priced bottle of wine! Worth the return trip!! Thanks Felipe!!

Beautiful presentation! My server John was very helpful in making suggestions. The restaurant itself was slower than I thought it should be. Hopefully they have more people coming in to experience the beautiful atmosphere and delicious food!

We visited the Italian restaurant Vinoteca di Monica in Boston for my birthday weekend this past weekend. The pasta at Vinoteca di Monica is fully made on-site! They gave us Italian bread with a bean spread after we placed our order. I adored the cheesey flavor of the bean spread! We got an order of Calamari Fritti as an appetizer, which is served with spicy aioli and marinara sauce. I preferred the tentacles since they were less chewy and more crispy than the calamari rings. I ordered the prosciutto cotto and ricotta ravioli for my meal. The prosciutto cotto had slices of prosciutto that have been carefully cooked at a controlled temperature with tomato cream sauce that resembles vodka sauce on top. I finished my entire dish of ravioli since they were so good, and the sauce was a lighter cream sauce. If you want fantastic Italian food, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! Make sure you also stop by their pasta shop which is located next door.

I have eaten here almost every time I visit the North End -- so likely at least 6 or 7 times -- and I always have a consistently excellent experience. Thank you! The food is incredible, the waitstaff is kind and patience, and the restaurant is clean, modern and fun. I highly recommend Monica's to my friends and colleagues for a great meal with a real North End feel. And I have always had great compliments sent on the experience.

We reserved a table at the last minute (not to mention during a busy time) since our earlier reservation cancelled, and the staff were super accommodating and amazing. There is such a variety of dishes here and everything we had was delicious. Go and get the pasta!!
