Very good chip shop with friendly staff

Popped in as we were passing - what a lucky move!
The staff were attentive from the moment we entered. The cafe was clean and there were several copies of the menu on each table.
There appeared to be lots of vegan options but I was here for sausage and chips. It was delicious. The chips were crispy and lightly browned, very appetising. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Chips are my favourite take out meal but not my husband's, however he said he enjoyed his meal too - chips and mushy peas.
We were the last people in the shop, near closing but the owner was lovely, telling us we could sit after we had finished and there was no need to rush. He chatted with us and is obviously a customer friendly person. It's a pity we live so far away because this could definitely be my regular!

i can only talk about how the food tasted, as our daughter collected them. fish was very nice and white, large piece not greasy, chips were new tates, yum yum yum, mushy peas good, not the metallic taste you get at other places. curry sauce good not over thick. best thing i will mention is there was no oily after taste like elsewhere. would i have from there again, too right i will. daughter just said the service was quick as she timed it right 4pm.

Prices were very reasonable and portion sizes were pretty big. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Chose a regular haddock and chips and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back here.

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had.
I had hake that had a lovely light, non greasy batter and a huge pile of chips.
The staff are friendly and the restaurant was absolutely spotless as was the frying area.
Well worth making a date to eat there!

Great vegan options! We ate in at the end of our holiday. Huge chip portions all round even for a kids meal we just couldn’t eat. If we’re ever this way again we’d just get one portion between us. Fish and vegan fish both delicious. Vegan milkshakes and ice cream available too.

I had the best cheesy chips with gravy and my wife saw a picture of a battered burger in here so sue asked if she could have one, that was a first. I also had nice cod row. I will come back, nice place on the market square and seats outside and very nice and friendly staff

There was a haddock and cod option to choose from, with chips, and I asked for the difference between them and the chap serving happily pointed out the differences and therefore I went for Haddock 🐟. When I ate it all up, I was full and satisfied! It tasted fresh and just delicious. And of course the outside eating area is an added bonus!
