Looking for somewhere to eat off the beaten track came across this pub. The landlady, Claire, advised they weren't serving food but she felt sorry for us and opened the kitchen just so we could eat. We both chose the beef bourguignon which was served with real mashed potato and freshly cooked veg and it was sublime, proper filling comfort food, so good we booked for the following evening and recommend 100% . Can't wait to try something else from the menu. Thank you Claire, you made our day 🤩
Nice pub, nice garden. Didn't eat, but the food looked good.
We were welcomed by a lovely lady, who was happy for us to have our dogs with us. We were given free choice of tables inside or outside and able to move when it got chilly. The food was lovely and portion sizes were generous. All round a positive experience thankyou.
Thank you so much for your hospitality and help when we broke down it was a nice welcoming and super kind and friendly.
We will be bk for food next time as this is not only a great pub but also great staff and land lady.

Outstanding service would highly recommend! I visited on a Sunday lunch with my partner and little girl and the owner was so welcoming. The food was lovely and tasty. Will definitely be returning with the family. Such a lovely comfortable atmosphere 😊
Delicious food, very generous portions, excellent value for money. Really nice atmosphere made even more so by Gemma the very pleasant, friendly & hard working person who served us. Would definitely recommend this lovely pub.
Love this local pub. Great garden with little climbing frame for kids and a good bouncy castle. Nice atmosphere, lots of events/live music. New owners are very nice. Only tried bar snake food but still very nice.
Just had a lovely lunch with some friend to celebrate a birthday.The young lady of the house couldn’t have done more to make it a very enjoyable experience. The food was very good, freshly cooked and well presented. We will definitely be going back.
The best roast dinner we've had in ages! This pub is a must for anyone looking for a flavoursome home cooked roast with fresh vegetables and tasty gravy. The puddings are equally delicious. An Easter special was Hot Cross Bun bread and butter pudding. If I'd had room, I'd definitely go back for seconds!
The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A definite diamond in our village and would definitely recommend to all.
Popped in to get out of the rain whilst walking. Lovely old pup really nice terrace with great views of the well laid out garden. Staff were very pleasant
