This hotel has really had some good advisors, because not only bar so, but 1812 are fine establishments. This is the place to be in Bournemouth.
Always chocca at the weekends, but nicely calm and relaxing during the week. Watch the world go by during the summer, and soak up the beautiful decor inside in the cold.
1812 has a fine edge which is reflected in the staff's service and the quyality of the products on offer. cocktail bar which can slow things down at the bar, but worth the wait, just order two when you finally get served!
What.. a great dinner a rare find.. We was two hungry girls and seeing it was a bank holiday we failed to book and the place we wanted to go into was fully booked.
The restaurant was well decorated and seeing we went on a Monday they had a special three courses meal for like £15.00 like bargain and they also had happy hour cocktails.. Like who is going to say no to that?
I started off with a smoked duck, then chicken breast and finished it all off with a chocolate brownie cheesecake which was served is a very unusual way.. See pictures for menu and the food.. So don't say I didn't warn you.. Don't look if you're hungry.. Great venue for a cosy date too.. Fellas!!

A breath of fresh air for Bournemouth. Nice and comfortable. Outstanding cocktail menu. I haven't tried the food, but being part of a well-established hotel, I'm sure it can't be bad. The bar is called 1812 after the year the building was established - and it was apparently the first building in the town of Bournemouth as we know it. They have a live music programme with plenty of jazz. The prices are high, but that is pretty much expected in a swanky hotel bar such as this. The bar staff are more than competent and their fresh fruit cocktails are a delight.
this is a stylish looking restaurant situated at the back of a bar. we had a great meal here on a Friday night, all three courses were very nice. it wasn't a particularly busy night and to be honest we felt a bit rushed through our first two courses, however after asking for a bit of time before ordering dessert staff were understanding and left us to enjoy the wine for a while. the only thing I wasn't too happy about was the noise coming from the bar area, there were a few lively groups gathered in there drinking I would have preferred it if the doors at the entrance to the restaurant had been shut but then I am at bit over fussy about noisy restaurants so I wont mark 1812 down for this.
If you want a more upmarket, quiet venue for a drink and a meal then 1812 is for you. With soft lighting and mood music and often a piano playing in the corner it's a great place to go for a good meal or a drink where it's quiet enough to talk with friends. The cocktails and food are a little on the high side, but this is made up by the atmosphere and venue. I have always found the bar staff very friendly and attentive and would recommend a visit for either an early drink before moving on to a club or for a relaxing meal.

Recently visited for the first time for our wedding anniversary. Fab cocktails, a bit pricey (£6.95-£20+!), but great quality and a good atmosphere. Nice and cosy decor. Restaurant was lovely, really excellent food at a not horrendous price. Very helpful and friendly staff, great service. Nice, small restaurant, intimate atmosphere, so great for couples. Over 21's as well, so no annoying teenagers!
this is where us girls go for our first drink of the night, every time we're in town without fail! cocktails are amazing an worth the price- staff are well trained! plus if it's not on the menu, they can still create it.. we love it! recommend it to anyone- perfect beginning to a night out- or stay here all night..

Amazing food at the restaurant within the 1812 bar. Nice live music while eating at the restaurant. The band at the 1812 bar later was so so but still managed to have a bit of a dance. Would like to visit again one day

So we were in Bournemouth last weekend and it so happened to be the air show coincidentally plus this was our first time visiting. We decided to explore and found 1812. Hands on heart this was an absolutely amazing night, the staff, the music, the vibe, the comfort was exceptional. Don’t get me started on the DJ and the live music, the amberzone band were playing live and boy did they put on a show. If you want a chilled night out in a spacious bar with good vibes, I would definitely recommend 1812!!!! Ps no star rating for food as we didn’t eat.
This has to be the coolest bar in town. We stopped in for a cocktail , excellent it was in a setting that sort of reminded me of a 30s or 40s plush lounge bar, all that was missing was the piano player and singer banging out some old classic tunes.
Very nice bar with live music. Drinks are quite pricey but we had a very good experience. Staff are very welcoming.
Had some drinks and lunch there. They do have a dress code even during the day but as long as you’re not wearing a beach towel around you, you’ll be fine. At night it has live performers but I haven’t visited at night. During the day the place is lovely. Food is also great.
Great place to chill at the lounge bar or dine in the restaurant 🍴 There is a stage for live music 🎶 And their 🍹 are second to none. They have Happy hour daily from 5 - 7 Pm only £6 !
Incredible!! Where to start?? Let’s go with the food, wonderfully crafted dishes and an extensive pizza menu from the wood fired oven, incredible flavours that are authenticity Italian. Fantastic service with friendly and knowledgeable staff, made us feel like we back in Italy. The restaurant itself is modern and has a great vibe. Highly recommend. We’ll be back soon.
