Very nice fish and chips, we’ve visited a few times. Prices are cheap for the area. Fish portions are big and the mushy peas are the best I’ve had (my mum agrees and she’s a northerner) the owner always very friendly and smiley too!
First day over from USA and because it was Monday very few Fish and chips shops were open. We found the Pokesdown chippy and it was amazing we had Cod and Chips and Haddock and chips and believe me they were amazing. Cooked very well and the portions were a good size.Well done sir we will be back b
I have never been so unbelievably amazed at how fresh and tasty food could be from a chip shop. The food here is always cooked with the best quality produce, never taste greasy and the service is above and beyond any place I’ve had a takeaway. These guys are absolutely fantastic and so friendly. I
Very good fish and chips, freshly cooked and good sized portions, even the small was plenty for us. The owner is very friendly and the service was good. Would definitely visit again if we stay in the area.

Ordered via just eat...wrong order was delivered, I was told I could keep more expensive order but it was things I would not eat.

All traditionaly wrapped in paper unless you want a box that's optional and they can do that instead. Mushy ps are sweet and great size. Chips cooked perfectly and great portion for a large. Crispy, light batter, flaky juicy fish and perfectly fried chips topped with ‘super thick’ curry sauce and sweet mushy peas! Beautiful! Well done guys, loved every mouthful - will be back next week for same again! Yum!
Stopped by the Pokesdown Chippy for a bag of chips last week, and I was amazed by how clean the place was! Brilliant! And the owner was so proud of how much elbow-grease he had put into the place and the plans he has for it. Such a great soul. And the chips didn't disappoint, either!

Owner used to be head chef at Makla in Southbourne, a Syrian who is trying to rebuild his life after losing everything thing in his home country due to war.

Popped in for the first time last night after living in the area for a few months. Freshly cooked and very tasty!!! My wife asked for breaded fish even though it wasn’t on the menu and it was no trouble for them. We will be back!
