It’s difficult to know how to rate this hotel…
The positives- great location on the cliff, we had a balcony room with a really great view over the sea. It was very clean, and well looked after.
The negatives- we were cold, it’s May after all, hardly the height of summer. Our radiator did not seem to work so we called down to reception, but no one answered. We went down to see someone, and found out that the heating had been turned off as some people had been too hot the week before. And there were no heaters, well they had some, but they were all used in the other hotel. After a number of “conversations”, we eventually got a heater and an additional cover, but only because we just would not take no for an answer. Hardly great customer service.

Looks a bit tatty on the outside but inside it's fine. Our room was large and clean with a modern bathroom. We had breakfast too which was a good standard. On our visit the bar was closed due to staffing issues which seems to be a general problem with the hospitality industry post covid. You can use the hotel next door for a drink. They take pets here too.

This hotel is adequate enough for a short stay. Shower wasn't great, bathroom door wouldn't close unless locked and all could do with a bit of decorating. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and the location is good. Had dinner at the sister hotel nextdoor, do not recommend it at all. Food not good, had to send mine fish pie back as fridge cold in the middle.

We were told that if we registered our car on arrival we would not have to pay for parking. We registered our car on arrival and the first day was fine. Received a parking ticket from parking eye for the second day of our stay. We were not told to register each day, and judging by reviews we are not the first to fall for this. Tried contacting the hotel, rings and rings, leave messages but no one ever phones back, parking eye were sent our booking confirmation and still want to fine us as they are saying that is not evidence.Please anyone looking to book here think again! Try booking with a hotel chain that respects your custom and not one hell bent on making profit any way possible.

Stayed at the hotel for a work meeting, after checking in with the friendly staff I was told I was staying in a “suite”. Once I found my suit I was presented with utter disappointment. Mould around the window and fire exit door, that lead to a balcony littered with plastic cups, moss and rubbish. The curtains are stained with mould and the window doesn’t stay open. Luckily the bowl for the tea and coffee managed to prop the window open enough to allow air in. The tv by the door had a very DIY cable joint doing and wrapped in black electrical tape. The fire exit signs are covered with tape and bin bags, but at night these still light the room and make it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was buffet style with “hot” and cold options. The cold selection was of a good choice. The “hot” selection was warm at best and wasn’t great. The hotel from the outside looks extremely run down and very unwelcoming, luckily the staff make up for this and make you feel welcome.

Probably 3 star rating property excellent position overlooking beach. Facilities all more than adequate. Only 10 mins walk into town centre. Car parking - £10 per night but convenient and worth it.

Great location next to the pier, staff were friendly and accommodating, rooms were okay. Great views of the seafront from the hotel.
Access to pool and spa was a great bonus.

Would give 0 stars if I could. For £340 for one night I expected the Cumberland standards. Room hasn’t been upgraded since the hotel was built. Swimming pool left to it’s own devices covered In algae. Balcony’s are thick with green stains all over them and they’re not separated at all so next door can just walk up on to your balcony. Stains all over dressing table chair, wallpaper peeling everywhere, dusty, furniture so scratched and worn didn’t even want to sit on it. Hairs in the bed. Hole in wall covered with a square of plastic siliconed on. Flies everywhere. Couldn’t stay there had to find somewhere else and get a refund. Pictures are nothing like how the rooms or hotel are. It stank in there. No cleanliness. Dirty towel and underwear in drawer left. Staff slow and not with it. Waited 40 minutes for someone to open the safe to refund us. They brought the wrong key over to start off. Just awful ruined our whole evening missed the cinema and meal we booked and had to find elsewhere to stay at 7pm. Superior double room wouldn’t let my dog stay in there. Nothing superior about it.
