The Jackson Bistro has excellent service. The men hosting and serving are very attentive and nice.
The atmosphere was a bit lacking.
The food was fine. The steak was well prepared, the fries were a bit greasy and could have been crispier, the ribs were very tender but a bit small and the soy marinade lacked some layers.
really great food with a nice selection of meat and fish options. very extensive wine list with good variety. staff extremely friendly and less than five minutes away from some good bars for a drink afterwards.
Staff were so friendly, lovely and accommodating. Food was great too. They have both cheesecake and pancakes of the day which is a great idea. It was a malteser and baileys cheesecake when we visited and that was delicious!

We have been staying in the lakes for a few days, we go home Monday. If we knew how good the food and service was we would have booked it multiple times to! That's how much we enjoyed it.

By far the best restaurant in the area.
We visited back in July, so this is a little late posting. I had the soup of the day and beef bourginion, my boyfriend had rack of ribs and slow roast lamb. The food was superb and the staff were truly amazing. Fantastic value and such a lovely, calm atmosphere.
I can’t fault a single element of our time at Jackson’s. We’ll be definitely going back! And have already recommended friends and family to visit on their trips in the near future.

Stunning food served with passion and talent of the highest order. From the owner to the chef to the waiter and waitress, you can taste the love they prepare your food with. Presented beautifully and taste is sublime, Every ingredient fused together perfectly.

I had to write a review of this lovely restaurant as we had such a great meal here a few nights ago. We are on holiday here so we can only really go on google reviews so we thought we’d try Jackson’s as it had a good score. It was quite busy upstairs so we were the first to be seated downstairs by our courteous waiter. The food was really delicious - we (two adults two teens) all ordered different things, and everyone was very pleased with their choices. The service was excellent - just the right level of attentiveness and charm on what was a busy night for them. The food was presented beautifully and the flavours showed that the chef really knows their stuff! Generous portions too. The 2 or 3 course fixed price options are great value as well. A special meal - thank you!
Very decent. A slight Faux Pas on the veg medley but everything fairly decent. Really liked the confit duck. Service A1 lovely team, owners/operators should be proud. Look after them.
Best restaurant in Bowness. Food is incredible, great selection. Everyone will find something they fancy.
We’ve been 4 times, and got the same steak stuffed with cheese main, it’s delicious.
Wife has had the best dessert she’s ever had. If you see the caramac and toffee cheesecake on the specials board, do yourself a favour.

Visited this evening and have to say this is an absolute gem of a place. My husband is gluten free and he was thrilled that he could dine so well. The staff (possibly owners?)were all amazing and nothing too much trouble.
